The Engineer was great and fixed our issue. The 2 stars relates to the extortionate invoice. It was agreed on a £125 call out charge. Did not disclose that vat needed to be added.

Engineer was with us for less than 1 hour, checked the meter and there was an over voltage fault. Noticed that there may have been a wire missing in the board. Went to his van and collected a 20cm neutral wire, connected it to the board and everything worked again. Again less than 1 hours work. We were then charged £275+vat for "rectification with material" total bill £510.00. We understand additional fees needed to be paid. But we were expecting £200 - £300. Emailed to query and got told "that's the price, pay".

Company is a complete rip off and would not recommend. Their loss as we were about to ask for a quote on a 10 panel system with battery.

So much for supporting local businesses. Do not use.

I contacted several providers and Optimal Solar were one of the first to get back to me and to come round and inspect the property in person. Friendly and professional, clear and communicative, it was a good experience. They took care of everything from scaffolding to wiring up, and always made sure I knew what was happening when. I highly recommend talking to Optimal Solar if you are looking into getting solar panels.
