Beautiful Tudor hotel with so much character and charm nestled within acres of picturesque land in Haslemere! Welcomed with warmth and check in was quick. Our room was absolutely stunning (501). Dined in the restaurant here which was had a lovely ambience and views of the pond and fountain. All staff were friendly & attentive which added to the whole dining experience. The meal was well presented and full of flavour… we enjoyed the chateaubriand!|Made use of the spa during our stay too. Will definitely be returning!

We recently stayed at the hotel during the period between Christmas and New Year. While we understand this can be a busy time with potential staffing challenges, we unfortunately found the restaurant and bar service to be very slow. The staff, while incredibly lovely and polite, appeared visibly overworked and stressed, which created an uncomfortable atmosphere for us as guests.

For dinner, we had booked a table and were seated promptly, but after reviewing the menu and attempting to order, we were informed that many items were sold out. While we appreciate that shortages can happen, it would have been helpful to be informed of this upon arrival so we could have considered alternative plans. Ultimately, we ordered dishes we hadn’t intended to, and the experience was underwhelming. My risotto arrived stone cold and had to be sent back, and one of the drinks I ordered was only available by the bottle, which wasn’t mentioned beforehand.

Breakfast was another area where the service fell short. There were no cups or bowls available, and no one came by to take our order. We opted for the buffet, but many items were depleted, despite there being an hour left of service.

The pool facilities were also disappointing. While the hotel is advertised as a spa hotel, we were unaware that the pool is also open to the public and frequently used for children’s swimming sessions. Upon check-in, we planned to use the pool and sauna but found it unavailable due to a children’s session. The next morning, we encountered the same issue. It would be helpful to advertise this more clearly on the website or consider adjusting the schedule to better accommodate adult guests during typical check-in/check-out times.

To conclude, while we appreciated the friendliness and effort of the staff, the overall experience did not meet our expectations for a spa hotel. With some adjustments to service, communication, and facilities, this could have been a far more enjoyable stay.

The rooms were nice, and the food was great, but as a wheelchair user, my experience was disappointing. Despite booking an accessible room and being assured over the phone that all hotel facilities were fully accessible, we arrived to find the spa lift out of order. When we raised this with staff, we were told—rather casually—that it had been broken since they started working there. Clearly, this was an ongoing issue, yet we were not informed at the time of booking.

Beyond the accessibility issue, the spa itself was a letdown. It was a little untidy around the edges, with blown lights, rusty metal fittings, and an overall sense of neglect. On top of that, it was incredibly crowded—so much so that people were literally queuing outside the sauna waiting to get in.

We addressed our concerns with staff and were offered a 15% refund, which was appreciated, but the situation still significantly impacted our stay. Additionally, on check-out, we were charged twice for dinner, and trying to get through to the hotel by phone was frustratingly slow.

Overall, while the food was excellent at the Tudor Room, the lack of accessibility, poor maintenance, and overcrowding let the experience down. We won’t be returning.

Beautiful location with fields and nice walking paths. Room was spacious for family and service was very good from staff. However water wasn’t boiling in the shower and the swimming pool was a little dingy. My family had a lovely time but I wouldn’t give the hotel 4 stars.

Beautiful surroundings and the rooms are tastefully designed but it's smacks of a 3 1/2 star hotel rather than something more upmarket. Shower wasn't so powerful and warm but the pool facilities are good and the staff were helpful and friendly. Nice but won't be back.

I recently stayed overnight at The Lythe Hill Hotel with my mum and my daughter. It was a surprise for my mums 80th birthday and we were not disappointed. I had mentioned when booking it was my mums birthday and when we arrived in our room there was a hand written card and a birthday message written in chocolate with 3 cakes. What a lovely gesture.

The room was really spacious with a double bed and double sofa bed, so plenty of room for the three of us. Plenty of Tea and Coffee in the room as well.

The staff at the hotel were all extremely helpful and friendly, they even opened the bar early for us so we could get a coffee when we arrived. My daughter is a particularly fussy eater but when we were having dinner in the hotel restaurant nothing was too much trouble. I really couldn't fault the waiting staff they were amazing.

Overall it was a lovely stay and we will definitely be coming back.

We had an overnight spa stay. The venue was lovely.
The room was basic and a bit small but clean and fresh. Lovely shower.
Hotel receptionist, ruby was lovely, very welcoming.
The massage was lovely and relaxing so it was a shame that the spa receptionists were very unprofessional. Our experience was spoilt by an unsupervised child in the pool who clearly had a disability and was very loud. I have no issue with family pool time though there was no mention of this in the buyagift advert. When I raised why wasn’t the child been supervised or engaged which would have reduced the noise and been safer for the child, the staff shrugged and said there was nothing they could do. They continued to eat lunch chatting and talking at the reception. Very poor service. We ended up leaving the pool as it was so loud.
Should not be advertised as a spa resort.
Food very good though again very poor service from the staff. Clearly no trained or experienced staff recruited.
Such a shame as it’s a lovely venue
