Its hard work these days finding a heating contractor and then secondly getting a fair price quote for the work and then thirdly getting the work done in a timely manner. Westall provided us with a new boiler installation and completed everything with the best of intent. Obviously it pays to shop around and obtain 2 or maybe 3 quotes and at the same time review the suppliers credentials and make a reasoned decision. I'm delighted to give Westall 5 stars. Great engineers working diligently and quickly to a satisfactory conclusion, great office staff quick to help and answer queries, great project management and analysis of existing system and what was needed going forward.
Finally guys, a fair price, the lowest quote as it happened in the event.

They did an excellent professional job and they were ONE THIRD cheaper than the most expensive quote I was given (simply for an annual service on a CH boiler.) Furthermore, Westall's charge was reasonable compared to what I've been previously charged over the last few years, given that all costs have gone up quite a bit. I don't know how the other companies who quoted on my job can justify their charges. In my opinion, there is an "assumption of wealth" in the Hexham area, and this could lead to people charging what the market will stand, rather than a fair price for the consumer. Thankfully, J.P. Westall clearly are not that sort of company, and all credit to them. They did not find " extra work" that needed doing on my boiler and the engineer was pleasant and efficient.
I hope people seeing this review will give Westall's the custom they deserve and help them maintain their high ethical standard.
And no, I have absolutely no connection with the company whatsoever.

Arrived on time, got stuck straight into the job. Left without leaving a trace they’d been here, except for the absence on leaks.

Rang Westall about a new project. After some difficulty getting through a very nice lady took details including contact information and swiftly arranged an appointment for 17 November.

The guy turned up, an hour late, took measurements, asked a few questions and left saying he would get back to us.

We haven’t heard anything. Somehow we were not entirely surprised.

As other reviews have pointed out this is a significant problem at Westall. If they have a system for monitoring the progress of project enquiries and escalating to senior management when running behind, it isn’t working.

It might be that Westall doesn’t want the job. That’s fine but there are better ways to turn down work, such as a polite letter, call or e-mail. That way they might still be in the frame for routine work.

It’s simple enough to fix, the question is whether the will is there to do it.
