Came to the rescue when no one else could! Urgent delivery of oil needed and all have been super helpful in getting it delivered on the same day when everyone else could only deliver in the New Year and couldn't help! My experience in dealing with United Fuels cannot be rated highly enough. I needed an oil delivery sooner rather than later, I had been let down by my usual supplier. I rang United Fuels who were lovely, friendly and understood the situation I was in. My oil was delivered within hours, with excellent customer service, taking away the worry of running out of oil.

Absolutely terrible service. We made our first order in early 2020 and delivery was a couple of days late with no calls or messages to explain why it was late. We gave them the benefit of the doubt hoping this was a one off and made our second order for delivery in mid May but again the delivery never turned up so lots of calls and emails ensued and lots of excuses and false promises followed. We eventually got our delivery in mid June a full month after the initial delivery date. We should have left it there and gone looking for another supplier but listened to their promise it wouldn"t happen again. We placed another order last week and paid extra for the guaranteed 3 day delivery with delivery by Monday 26th October at the latest. When we had no delivery and no communication by 3pm we suspected the worst and rang the Skipton office and lo and behold our delivery isn't coming and we may get it by Thursday/Friday as the delivery manager is on holiday and there is nothing they can do to speed this up. When they took a month for our delivery in June we ran out of heating oil and lost our aga and hot water supply as a result which didn't bother them in the slightest even after explaining that both my son and myself have severe epilepsy and my partner has lupus so were sheltering and needed the basics such as the ability to cook and have hot water, their response was simply we will deliver when we deliver.

To say they pride themselves on being a family run business, there is nothing 'family' about it. A family would keep customers informed and be far more considerate of their customers and the customers needs and when making a guarantee would stick to it and not fleece the customer of extra money only to a service less than the standard offer. Very poor, uncaring, inefficient are the only words to describe our customer service experience and when we call to complain about late deliveries and failed promises we are treated like a nuisance which is absolutely no way to run a business.

I placed an order with this company for an oil delivery and the company happily took my bank details for payment following the delivery, I was advised that I would receive a text advising when the delivery would be made. The text was duly received on Thursday 4th November noting that the delivery would be received that day. No oil was delivered and no phone call received to advise why this was. The following day I called United Fuels to ask why the oil had not been delivered the individual who answered was unable to locate me on their system under either my postcode or my name and it was only when I provided the first line of my address that he found me, I was advised that a driver had been taken ill and therefore my delivery was not possible.
No apology was made and no suggestion was offered as to when I could expect the oil to be delivered, following my call with them I received a further text advising that the oil would be delivered on the Monday 8th November.
As I was away for the weekend I had to arrange for my neighbours to ensure no vehicles were blocking the access to the oil tank so that the delivery could take place. Suffice to say the delivery again did not happen on the Monday, on calling them again I was advised that the text received was automated and the actual delivery was not scheduled until the end of that week, I asked for a specific day and the individual, Tom, could not provide this. I suggested that I would like a call back to advise when the delivery was going to happen as my oil reserves were, at this point, very low and I needed to know that I was going to receive the oil before I run out potentially damaging my oil fired boiler.
No call was received again therefore I decided that this company had no morals and had no intention of fulfilling the promise they made on the initial call to deliver my oil and I placed an order with an alternative provider.
I called United Fuels for a 3rd time to ask what was happening with my delivery and "Tom" advised that he would have to chase this up.
I told him that he shouldn't bother and that I was quite disgusted with their complete lack of customer service and empathy towards a potential customer who likes to be loyal with companies who provide a great service.
In summary all I can advise anyone who reads this would be to exhaust all other options before considering using this company as they have a blatant disregard for people and their needs, if they cannot fulfil an order on time then they should advise as such rather than providing pathetic excuses and no oil.

Fantastic service!! Really happy with the way we were looked after when we ran out of central heating oil over winter. They even managed to deliver to us on the same day as we were running on empty. Have been using ever since and never let us down. Would definitely recommend to others!

United Fuels are to be avoided as they do not live up their promises and it impossible to get honest answers from them, despite constant phone calls when an order will be delivered within the time scale promised. Their standard excuse being that they have trouble with their wagons, which occurs at any time of the year, regardless.
Do not be tempted by their low prices, as their level of service is lower than their prices.

Go up
