After several quotes, I asked Bright Green Homes to completely renovate my four storey Victorian mid-terraced home over a course of eight months. My brief for Bright Green Homes was to make this home wheelchair accessible whilst maintaining the original features and increasing its energy efficiency.

The work was extensive, including the installation of a lift, an additional bathroom, new kitchen and rain water harvesting system. Throughout this process Alex and his team were incredibly organised, keeping me up to date with photos of the completed work every day.

I was consulted on as much as I needed to be, they were flexible with my requirements and gave me useful suggestions to any concerns. Not only were they a lovely bunch to work with, but they made the process of renovating and refurbishing a home a (relatively) stress-free process! I highly recommend them for any size of job and would not hesitate to work with them again... in fact, I count on it!

We have used BGH twice. We came to him on a recommendation from a friend who is a local architect, who has used him on a number of projects. The first was a small repair job, & the second a substantial 30k remodel of our kitchen. In both instances there were problems, & setbacks, but in both instances Alex and his team persevered (without needing to be pushed by us) until everything was to our satisfaction. The kitchen job also, despite the setbacks, came in under budget. In common with most substantial jobs it took a lot longer than initially estimated (from 6-8 weeks to 4 months). It is significant that Alex’s team are very loyal to him. He’s straightforward and trustworthy.

Having had one terrible and one quite stressful experience of employing builders to work on our house I was quite anxious about finding someone to remove a load bearing wall between our kitchen and front room. We were in fact struggling to get people to give quotes and numerous people didn't turn up when they said they would.

Alex was great at communicating from the off and more than happy to sign a contract, explain details, clarify things and show me their terms and conditions and guarantees around how they work etc. He is friendly and professional.

The work itself went very well, was on schedule and on cost. All his team were really nice, professional and considerate and did their best to make the experience as smooth as possible especially as we have a baby in the house. They were tidy, organised and have done a great job. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking to have work done and have in fact already done so.

I have worked with Bright Green Homes both in a Professional and Personal capacity, together they have worked with me to create some amazing projects and they are currently working on my house, doing a renovation is a stressful project whilst living there (I don't recommend it) but Bright Green Homes has made it bearable and easy to manage through there builder trend system, which helped me know what had gone on on site that day / week / month and what was coming up next. Bright Green Homes are the experts at making sure your new and retrofit insulation does the job it is capable of and they don’t make silly obvious mistakes other firms do. Our house was quite challenging due to some 'interesting' planning restrictions and how they affected our design, but if it was stressful for them we didn't hear about it and what we got was a fabulous extra floor on our property which crucially has added to and improved the insulation and therefore the sustainability of our house.
