Absolutely shocking drivers, had one bald idiot just pull right out in front of me in ulverston for no good reason whatsoever, then try to claim I was half way down the road away from him, I was approx the length of his recycle truck away from him doing 20mph slowing down for the lights when he pulled out forcing me to give way to him. A very stupid inpatient little man in a big truck thinking the rules of the road don't apply to him and he can do what he wants.

Absolutely disgraceful company avoid at all costs.

When emptying the bins they regularly leave rubbish all over the lane that residents have to pick up and the drivers language is also often very vulgar and loud early in the morning.

This company struck my building whilst collecting their bins and the driver simply drove off without even reporting the incident. There was damage caused inside and outside the building. I made several calls to them and informed the police about it. The police contacted them and they said they would be in touch and several weeks on nothing.

The truck struck a bedroom with someone asleep in the room at the time and this literally could have been a lot worse.

Very unprofessional setup and poor collection staff and clearly their drivers have poor driving skills.

I would give zero stars if available. My experience is the same as many of the reviews. Once you sign the transfer cert they impose the T&C's on the reverse. Which are in extreme small print.
They usually send a covering letter with the cert, which put pressure on you to sign quickly. It's still my opinion that imposed T&C's, in this manner, would not stand up in court, however the costs in fighting it prevented me for doing so. The argument is not clear and I would have needed a specialist lawyer,or barrister. Therefore I bought my self out of the contract.
My main issue, was the rude obstructive attitude of the company especially the contract dept. Disputes between companies occur, the difference is how the resolution is achieved. I am not proud to say rudeness begets rudeness.
I would never use this company again, nor recommended anyone using them. There are far cheap options out the, including the local authority which for some reason do not advertise their services.

Please please do not sign up with this company, they’ll not let you leave!!
The small print is ridiculous. We’ve used them for 4 or 5 years now and tried to leave, but they’ve got you well and truly sewn up. It’s disgusting. They won’t speak on the phone, everything has to be done by letter and they charge £30 to let you see the contract. They tie you up for 36 month contracts and then without letting you know it’s automatically renewed for another 36 months!!!!!
It’s bordering on criminal and I’m going to see if I can take this further.

Stole / obtained our data from another company. We have never been a customer of this company but sadly a customer of their sister company. Yet this company emailed us - have opened a complaint with the ICO and this data breach.

They missed a collection and insisted that the bin was empty, which is obviously a lie.

We talked with them through the phone and they agreed to do a free collection for us at the beginning. However, when we emailed (as they requested) to confirm the extra collection, they want to charge us extra because they insist they came and "the bin was empty". We asked if we can complaint and they said the only way was to write a letter...

All in all, as other reviews mentioned, a very disgraceful company.

Obstructive and unhelpful. Being out of contract and looking to shop around we found a better rate and service from a competitor. Out of courtesy we gave them notice we no longer required their service. At this point it all got nasty. They tried to tell us we were tied into an 18 month contract (untrue) and that the bins would not be removed from our premises until we paid the outstanding invoices (all invoices paid up to day). Then without notice they simply stopped collecting our waste, leaving us with full bins and no waste collection service. I would strongly advise anyone thinking of using MaxRecycle to avoid them like the plague.

a bit like the Hotel California, you can never leave! Max Recycle inherited our business from a previous local waste company in Kendal. We've been trying to leave this contract for the last two years. I've never known a contract like it, we have no copy of the 'original' contract - which apparently has an alternate date to our contract with the previous incumbent, their T&C's are ridiculous, you have a 'window' to give them notice but they automatically renew and if you miss it, you're locked in again, if you don't know the start date, they won't tell you unless you hand over more money. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. My battle with them will continue.
