I was quoted £48 over the phone. I wasn’t home when the repair person came and they charge my partner £68. Absolute rip off, was here for 15 minutes and claimed we should have a washer dryer in an outhouse as it could get damp and that’s probably what killed it. It’s a washer dryer… makes a lot of moisture on its own.

Explained my issue to the lady on the phone, explained what i had done and what the issue which is when she said it sounds like a blockage. I ring back the following day and the same lady tells me they will not come out to repair it as I have already tried to fix it by simply unscrewing a cap and one end of a pipe. A very odd policy that I could maybe understand if I had been tampering with electrics or something dangerous.

They turned up on time on a Saturday and diagnosed the problem. A £25 part and 20 mins to install. Charge: &188.00. I asked how the charge was calculated and what the hourly rate was. The answer was evasive and vague. We agreed a £20 'discount' I needed the oven working, so I paid it but agreed to discuss the rates with 'The Boss' on Monday. On Monday the boss was in hospital and so was his wife so they could only apologise and we negotiated a further £40 discount which they repaid. So their eventual charge was £128 which breaks down as £48 call out, £25 parts and £45/Hr labour for a min 1 Hr work. Other repair firms are available.

A prompt and helpful response from Sue to the initial enquiry and the engineer was in next day to effect the repair even though we only had a narrow time window. Very accommodating and happy with the job. Great service from a local company, as a sales and letting agency that is crucial for my business and I will definitely be a repeat customer!

I just want to let everyone know that I thought Hot Repairs were great. Extremely quick and friendly. My Electric Oven wouldn't heat up fully (3 days before Christmas!) and I needed it repairing fast. I found Hot Repairs on Google and after a quick phone call they arranged a callout the very same day. They arrive bang on time and were very knowledgeable and friendly.
The engineer had my oven working within 45 minutes and the repair cost was very reasonable.
I would defiantly recommend Hot Repairs. They are a local (Leicester) based family run company which showed from their friendly and personal service.

I was charged £88 for the engineer to change the plug to my oven! Yes he got it working again but I felt it was a ridiculously high cost for 15 minutes spent changing a plug! I would happily of paid a standard call out charge but I think what they charged me was not value for money and I will definitely not use or recommend this company!

Fantastic service. Booked Hot Repairs engineer to install inbuilt double electric oven at a fixed price. Although same make of oven, there was a slight difference in size and we encountered problems fitting it into our existing kitchen. Engineer persevered to find solutions and resolve the matter even though it took much longer than the time the fixed fee would have covered. Friendly and professional service, highly recommend.
