Had some work done on my car. Very good communication, very clear with what would be required, and how much it would cost. Worked with me to try and get warranty to cover the work, and very easy to work with. Honest with prices and timescale, and costs seem reasonable. Work seems of good quality, and very open about their warranty. Was able to bring the car back for a small tweak, no issues at all.

Appalling customer service, I originally contacted Halesowen Engines Mid December 2024 as the bottom end had gone on my car, I had used them previously after the cambelt had snapped. They advised that they could not start the rebuild until beginning of January 2025, fully appreciated they were busy and I arranged to have my car recovered to them start of the new year. I did not hear anything from them at all until nearly the end of January when I called them! They had not even put my car on the ramp and gave me a list of excuses e.g. they were having issues with ongoing jobs etc…Pretty much the same set of excuses they gave me when they fixed the cambelt issue in 2023 (unfortunately I believed them the first time). I advised them that I had a van on hire whilst they were fixing my car and needed to know when it was going to be ready. They then called me the next day to say they had looked at my car and they couldn’t rebuild the engine, they needed to source a second-hand engine!

The next call a week later was to say the engine they had found was no good and they were going to repair mine……..even though they said they couldn’t
They then called to say my turbo was faulty (this was the excuse for the next delay). As the turbo was being reconditioned by another company “it was out of their hands” so more time went by.
Apparently, they repaired the turbo, I have not seen any receipts for this, it was not mentioned again. When I finally collected my car, it was covered in handprints, low air pressure in the tyres (where it was sat for so long I presume) and was advised there was a calliper bolt missing and it was dangerous to drive, but they do not have capabilities to put a bolt in to make it safe!

Originally quoted, £3000 + vat to repair, then £3600 + vat for the second-hand engine, when they called to say it was ready they stated it was £3250 + vat for the rebuild originally quoted at £3000 + vat. When I queried the increase, he could not explain it, muttered something, put me on hold – then told me it was the original price (possibly trying it on or trying to cover the “free turbo repair” cost).

I have been paying around £300 per week for a hire van so I can still work whilst this was going on. If I was advised at the start that booking a job in with them is meaningless and they start it when they get a complaint I would have gone elsewhere or not repaired it. Not one single apology for the continuous delays, I’m guessing they don’t care or understand the impact this can have on people, simply being honest with time scales or advising they were too busy to take the job on would have saved me thousands. At least they got their money though! Please avoid.

Came to Halesowen engines to have a cylinder head skimmed, they were friendly and explained their services in great detail, prices are competitive and turn around is fast, cant recommend these guys enough

Steve and all the lads at Halesowen Engines are very helpful, knowledgeable and an overall nice group of lads as I was having some issues with my van and it was all sorted very promptly. The cost was very reasonable.
