Well-meaning but incompetent.
This company bombards the radio waves with a barrage of comments from dubious-sounding ‘customers.’ Here’s one from a real customer. Based on their claims media boasts, I assumed this business used the most up to date predictive tools when determining their recommendations about payments. Their boast is that they will recommend the best tariff for customers based on their state of the art algorithms and I believed them. How wrong I was
I was paying £205pm by DD and was happy this until I received notification of a special deal based on their ‘research’ recommending a new payment of £183. Three months latter they fell me i must now increase my payments to £234 pm because my payments ( based on their recommendation) were too low. This follows a similar pattern where misinformation and erratic performance is the norm.
And as an aside, the way they set out their billing information on the email correspondence is incomprehensible.
I’d move to another provider but my worry is they’re just as bad as all the others. What a terrible indictment on the industry!

Billing amount is wrong, when I called they say that we understand and refund and confirm on email but neither they mail or have refunded the amount. They never respond back on emails and a simple issue has been stretching for more than a month. I feel, I should switch to someone more reliable.

If I could give zero, I would. I moved my father to Octopus as they had really good reviews. Our experience has been on-going since October with a faulty smart meter that refuses to read the econimy 7. So a 94 year old widower is paying full price electricity linimg their pockets and robbig him of his hard earned pension.
I have been in communciation, phone and email, since october and they even sent out an engineer, who agreed that it is faulty. This is not just poor service, it is incompetent. Had I run my business like this, I would have failed completely and deserved to fail.

Recently fine a home move, some bright spark managed to merge my account with another customers. When they live in Scotland not only was I receiving my bill which was nil but was receiving their £500 bill. Staff were trying to tell they have the same email address which is impossible. Which they kept condicting theirselfs.
Then to make matters worse, member staff was very rude and was trying to put words into my mouth that I hadn’t said, just cause she couldn’t deal with the task at hand. She threatened to put the phone down and kept repeating herself. Weren’t explaining anything, inexperienced staff, who very childish and unprofessional. ( seems like companies just hire any random person nowadays)
Received email saying it was an error. Huge error which I don’t need won’t be staying with them, useless what happens when you have to many customers not enough experience ls staff. Their excuses they’re busy..and?
No excuse for poor service sort it out octopus.
I recently took this company to ombudsman and won my complaint I left a review on a different website which octopus refused to post but had the nerve to respond which this silly response. ( not taken ownership and trying to provide themselves on excellent 🤔 of that was the case I wouldn’t of taken you to ombudsman and you wouldn’t of send me this response…I rest my case.
