Helpful map so had a good walk around all the gardens. Walked down and along The Thames- beautiful. Several places for a coffee, cake or lunch. Watch out for Red Kites- they target picnic areas! Second hand book shop too! Lovely day.

Day trip to Cliveden to visit the gardens and enjoy a long walk through the woods and by the Thames with a friend. Saw lots of nature - red kites, deer, goslings, ducklings and a cormorant. Had a lovely rhubarb and rosemary scone at the Conservatory Cafe and loved the water gardens. Spent the whole day and still didn’t manage to see everything. The house wasn’t open to the public when we visited as it’s a hotel - would recommend checking National Trust website before visiting if you want to go inside. It’s very hilly climbing back to the house from the riverside but worth it for all the views.

What a wonderful state in England! One of the most beautiful places I've been to of its kind.
It's not far away from London, but it's easily connected to motorways.
During the spring and summer, it is a great park to walk through gardens and forest, so bring your sunblock, hat and comfortable shoes.
I cannot imagine it during the winter but maybe that's also a wonderful experience.
If you can, book your tickets in advance and arrive early in the morning, because it is a popular spot and the park lot is limited.
You can bring your trolleys (if you need). It has many accessible ways. It's dog friendly, but it's your responsibility to keep the place clean.
Bring as well your banquet with food and drinks to picnic, if you cannot, don't worry! You can buy them here.

Please! Please! Please!
1. Take your rubbish with you. Shame on those who leave their mess.
2. Respect the queue line entering with your car. Yes, everybody wants to enjoy the day ASAP, but good manners are really appreciated living in a community.

The presence of the hotel makes the experience of Cliveden a little disjointed, but the location on a cliff top overlooking the most beautiful stretch of the Thames makes it worth a visit alone. A trip on a boat is highly recommended and if you don't wish to row yourself a skippered cruise is the answer. Views of the house from the river are truly spectacular.

Stunning park! Excellent for exploring and getting the steps in. You can stick to flat paths (great park for prams and wheelchairs) or choose the rugged routes (less wheelchair/pram friendly). A walk down the steps to the river is beautiful!

The woodland-style play park is great for kids to run off steam. Note: there are no swings. But all other equipment there and excellent for all ages.

Lots of picnic areas available and an excellent cafe with indoor and outdoor seating. It does get busy so bring your own food or arrive early.

Car park is medium sized but does fill up very quickly - again, arrive early as they shut the park when they reach capacity.

Cliveden is a fantastic day out! Beautiful gardens, lovely walk down to The Thames where you can higher boats. The Orangery was very busy so we went to one of the coffee vans and had coffee and a snack. Would highly recommend

To be honest, this was one of the worst national trust places I’ve been to. I’m glad I didn’t pay to get in for sure. My first visit here, didn’t know you can only see the house on certain days and even then you’ve got to book Didn’t see inside the chapel. The gardens are beautiful and the rivers a nice walk. Cafe was lovely, fairly priced. Just a pretentious feel to it and I wouldn’t come back ever.

Not the best National Trust we’ve been to, hence score of 3.

Good points -
1. easy located Pitt stop/ peace break ahead of flights from Heathrow!
2. Beautiful Landscape and gardens - particularly the water garden
3. Helpful staff in shop who served us 10 minutes ahead of opening hours
4. Opens at earlier time if 9:30 than many NT properties

Less good points -
1. Poor / contradictory signage and lack of maps

2. Couldn’t access property unless you were guest or member (at least that’s how it appeared from signage)
