A company that refuses to listen to the voices of local people and communities is pushing through a devastating project that threatens the heart of Wales. Towering pylons—stretching for miles—are set to scar some of our most treasured landscapes: through peaceful valleys, past ancient castles, historic landmarks, and areas that draw visitors from around the world.

While many European countries require these power lines to be placed underground to protect heritage and beauty, this company won’t even consider it. They refuse to conduct a basic analysis of undergrounding the route.

Instead, they are choosing confrontation over cooperation—dragging landowners to court with teams of lawyers, leaving individuals to face overwhelming legal pressure alone. The result? Distress. Anxiety. A deepening sense of injustice. And a very real threat to local businesses and tourism.

No one seems to be listening. Communities are left unheard. And for what? A rushed, panicked project—driven not by thoughtful, sustainable planning, but by profit. The only real winners? The shareholders of Bute Energy.

Wales deserves better.

This company do everything they can to alienated local Welsh communities, including: tick box consultations and not listening, weaponisation of legal costs to force landowners to comply with their access demands, smoozing with the Senedd and giving jobs for favours, telling outright lies such as 'a pylon next to your house won't decrease the value', allowing their land agents to bully landowners, having zero local knowledge or interest in Wales other than to exploit it for maximum profits.
