We, as lawyers, are used to assessing written documentation and we were impressed and delighted with the Level 3 report prepared by Tony of Cowies. It followed a detailed inspection of a property we planned to purchase and, having analyzed it, it is difficult to conceive of any stone that has been left unturned. Furthermore, from the written explanations about every aspect of the house (physical nature; what to expect; inadequacies; predictions; risk; remedies; recommendations etc) all of which are so well articulated, we feel that we have gained a wealth of knowledge not just about this house but about residential dwellings more widely.

The reasoning behind the suggested value was cogent; and the whole report illustrated a depth of experience in the field.

We also appreciated the firm’s customer service which was warm and included verbal advice and discussion as well as, initially, some patience whilst we deliberated about which level of survey to have.

All in all, this was a very pleasant experience and we feel reassured about our position having had the benefit of such a professional service.

Andrew was excellent from the outset, he was very thorough is all his work and he was timely and efficient. I would not hesitate at all to use him again and anyone looking for a full survey that you can trust, please absolutly use him. Andrew helped me get the house passed for a mortgage after the house I was buying had foam insulation in the loft, a big no no for mortgage companies. He did a pre- examination report, and I got the work done and he did a re-visit and signed off the work. I now have my mortgage approved. The reports were very detailed with clear and relevant photos and including plans on improving the property with potential arrears of concern in the future. Very satisfied. Adam- Darlington

Both Alan and Andrew assisted with our survey, the property was one that did need some work doing and we had budgeted for this. The survey has undoubtably saved us 10’s of thousands as work carried out on the structural side was inadequate by the previous owner which resulted in us not proceeding. We have used Cowie’s again for the next house we are hoping to purchase. Highly recommend, thank yoy

Outstanding. Carried out a 'structural only' survey on a 200 year old property I was looking to aquire, which I believe is a bespoke service only they offer. I recieved a useful, accurate and thorough appraisal with a short turnaround. The bloke left no stone unturned, and the assesment really struck the balance between items requiring attenton, and what my expectations should be with a house of that age.
