I had been thinking about starting an ice cream business for quite a while, but having no experience whatsoever, I didn't know where to start. I thought about going to Italy but found Antonelli's training in the UK, which was very reasonably priced so I decided to give it a go. I'm so glad I did! 'Gelato Jonny', who does the training, is an ice cream expert extraordinaire, there is literally nothing that he doesn't know about gelato and ice cream. I learnt so much in 8 hours and although it was pretty intense learning, it was also loads of fun. We had a great time coming up with flavour combinations, devising the recipes and then making the ice cream itself. We made four flavours, all of which were absolutely delicious. I am now all fired up and after talking about it for years, finally going to crack on with starting a business. Thank you, Jonny, for giving me the confidence! I highly recommend this course to anyone interested in starting an ice cream business, you certainly don't need to go to Italy for training.

Where to start… we have been using these guys for cones the past couple of years and have made them our sole supplier for cones this year, why I hear you ask…!? Because they are the best cone supplier in the UK, possibly further but the UK is where I’m from.

I’ve been chatting with Johnny from Antonelli for a while now, trying to organise an opportunity to attend their incredible ice cream course, and we just haven’t been able to get to Manchester until now. Finally we were able to make it work whilst visiting the Lake District on holiday and we are SO glad we did!

This was probably one of the best Pop Ice days we have had to date! Johnny was incredible, friendly and so informative. He dedicated his day to us teaching us the basics and more advanced techniques of making ice cream.

During the day we chatted about everything ice cream, then had a lovely lunch which was so kind of them to supply. Whilst eating lunch Mark and David Antonelli popped in, and introduced themselves and chatted to us, which was a really lovely touch to proceedings.

The day then culminated in making some incredible ice cream flavours and sampling some of Johnny’s expertise and hard work.

The entire day was amazing from start to finish, they all took so much time to make us feel like a valued and important customer, which is so rare in this day and age. They solidified an already solid relationship we had with them.

We will look forward to working with them in the future and increasing the strength of our relationship and in turn a friendship.

Me and my family went on a 1-2-1 session for the course “so you want to make gelato”. We hadn’t made any ice cream before we went on the course, but Antonio Deroma, who was running the course, explained everything really well and answered all our questions. We also got to make some delicious gelato and Antonio showed us how all the machinery works. We were also provided with a lovely lunch and we were made very welcome by all the staff there. Overall it was a great day and we would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to learn how to make gelato!

I cannot recommend Antonelli Bros Ltd enough for anyone interested in learning the art of gelato-making. And if you have the chance to be taught by Jonny Ireland, consider yourself very fortunate – his passion, knowledge, and dedication will ensure you have an amazing and rewarding experience. Today I experienced a fantastic course at Antonelli called 'So you want to make gelato'. The course structure was spot on, the content was very interesting and above all, Jonny Ireland was a brilliant host. His humour and knowledge made it easy to understand, enjoyable and a memorable experience. Marie, his assistant, was so sweet too.

Getting to see how gelato is made in different types of machinery was great. Even more so because we were able to taste the goodies!

A nice atmosphere at the academy and the group I was with were lovely. Mark Antonelli popped in to say hi too!

I highly recommend their course and product offerings. Look forward to my next visit soon to learn more about the ice cream industry and starting a business.

We very recently attended a one to one course at Antonelli’s gelato academy in Manchester…and WOW what a day we had. We were greeted by the tik tok sensation that is Gelato Jonny! His knowledge, professionalism and passion was phenomenal. We throughly enjoyed the whole day. Our superb lunch was served and we chatted all day about our ideas and plans. We were very blessed to meet both of the Antonelli Brothers whilst we were at the academy, which really was lovely as they were incredibly passionate about their business and ours. Overall we can not wait to get started. We also can not wait to head back to the academy for further training. This is the start of a wonderful partnership. Thank you so much Jonny!!
