I ordered a Scandinavian nursery table for my daughter, from Argos in Brixton. Unfortunately when I got it home I found that there were a number of components missing from this table which made it impossible for us to assemble. I contacted the customer services & they advised me to. Return this item to Argos in nine elms & get a replacement.
I return the faulty item to Argos in nine elms & collected a new one the very next day. Unfortunately when I tried to assemble it I found that there were a number of components missing from it which made it impossible for us to assemble. I explain the situation to both Argos Brixton & Nine Elms only to find out that they did not have a manager on site to deal with my concerns, until Monday (4 days time).
This whole process has been frustrating & very disappointing with no immediate sign of resolution.
My advice is to not buy the Scandinavian nursery table from Argos & if you should have any issues with them at all go for full refund immediately.

Avoid. Rude Indian lady at the collection till refused to hand over my parcel. I showed her the text message and the e-receipt with the qr-code but she didn’t even scan it. She wanted to see a ā€œbarcodeā€ in an email. I contacted their customer support and they said she was wrong, and she should’ve given my parcel. This store doesn’t value customers and it’s not long until Argos closes this branch as well if they continue conducting business in the same way. I should mention that their online support team was really helpful and resolved my issue. They also said that action will be taken against the staff and I will be updated and compensated.

Pathetic experience today on 23 July 2025 dealing with a senior counter lady.

I showed her receipt in email and showed code and FT number on the message but she refused to deliver the order.

She said policy has changed and she can deliver if I show an email to her with code and FT number. I have not received any such email.

Argos Head Office should take strict action against her pathetic customer service.

Awful experience, will not order again from here, or Argos at all.
We ordered a microwave a few days ago, when it was supposed to be delivered, the driver took a picture of the outside building, not even trying to get past the 2 gates. No product in the picture either. We cancelled that one and decided to reorder and collect it from here. Upon collection, the woman working there dragged the box on the floor, breaking a handle of the packaging and gave it to us. We took it home like that, and after opening the packaging we realised that it won’t fit the kitchen, too big. A few hours later, we carried it back to Argos to return it, using black tape to seal the box, as we didn’t have clear one available. After carrying this heavy box to the store, taking the bus, the nightmare actually started. The manager there, (I assume named Hellen - after reading the other reviews) started the conversation with a mockery tone and attitude. The initial employee that helped was very nice and seemed very open to help up, however, she needed help from Hellen to get out the microwave, as it’s heavy. Here Hellen took over and initially commented on some marks on the microwave, which were just hand marks, from touching it. She said that’s is not in a resealable condition. At the advice of the other employee, I ran to the closest store and got kitchen wipes, and wiped it down, leaving it spotless. Taking it back to the counter, Hellen didn’t even want to look at the inside, visible upset that we managed cleaned up the marks. She then started saying that due to black tape, it cannot be taken back. When we mentioned that an employee already broke the handle (therefore the box was already damaged) she said that’s would not be a problem. So it seems that she would resell a product with broken handle, but not one where they would have to replace the black tape. She just did not accept it, made us get back home, by bus, carrying a big heavy box. She had no empathy, no customer service skills, no communication or comprehension skills. If this is representative of the values of Argos, then I am unwilling to buy from here again, cancelling my card with them as well. Her signalling that the broken handle would have been fine, shows that she would be ready to bend some rules, but not when benefiting long standing customers.

We will proceed with official complaints.

Trying to return something here was impossible, the manager was confrontational from the start, giving any reason not to accept the return. We had never used the product, we tried to return it only a few hours after collecting in the first place, but the manager said she could not resell it because the box had black tape on it. An employee had previously dragged the box along the ground and broken one of the cardboard handles as she brought it to me initially, so would not have been resellable anyway, based on her logic that the box needs to be pristine. I'm not going to that Argos, or any Argos ever again, knowing that this is how they treat customers.

was searching for an authentic Samsung charger, and while I wasn't able to locate one, I found the staff to be exceptionally helpful, and the atmosphere of the shop was quite calming.

Convenient Argos very near Brixton underground station, though not very many checkout kiosks, so lines can get long. The staff are very friendly and helpful, though.

Came in to Argos, made the order and expected to wait for the item max 10 minutes. Waited 20 minutes. No lack of staff as there was 4 ladies behind the tills just flaffing around. I could have ordered it and get it the next day from a bigger company, might just do that next time.
