I’ve been coming to this Taj for many many years buying lots of exotic fruits and veg. I also use the London Road branch and always find the quality to be top draw.

Today I met the owner and have to say what an absolute gent. He went out of his way to ask me if I needed any help getting my shopping in my car (I had a trolley full of onion bags) and also asked if there was enough of what I required. I also watched him interact with several other customers and they all seemed very fond of him.

Great business and superb management!

Another place that has fallen from glory.

Used to be an affordable, good quality supermarket for fresh fruit and vegetables.

Now, you pay £1 per orange, and you have a 25% they are rotten inside.

The lentils, spices etc is still good, but won't go back for fresh fruit again.

Lovely shop every area should have. Got everything I would need and more. Some foods that are more difficult to find are found here also.

The staff are unfriendly but knowledgeable (perfect combination in my opinion) so will point out what you're looking for easily and efficiently.

Love a bit of Taj. Whether it's a wedge of a massive watermelon, pomegranate the size of a child's head or a box of a mysterious kashmiri spice blend you think will be good for chicken....
It's always worth a visit to the spices aisle where you get four times the amount for half the price of your local supermarket

A place for expired products

Three times I bought expired bread and got past this topic

For the fourth time, I returned to them and took bread to talk to them

They asked me to give them the bill and we will give you new bread, what is this nonsense They thought I was asking for a new one, not afraid for my health

And once I bought Maggie from them to put it with food. It was expired and I got poisoned and diarrhoea for a whole day. I told them about this thing and they didn't recognise it in the first place and they denied this thing? What a nonsense!!!!!!!

The onions I bought were rotting on the inside.
Isle 7 has a leak which has not been fixed in months so water will drop on your head as you browse.
Many products can be found way cheaper elsewhere.
Lots of products do not even have prices on them.
The shopping experience is not worth it here.
