Having inadvertently come into possession of two reels of nitrate film stock, I was faced with the safe and proper disposal of this extremely hazardous and possibly volatile material. I contacted the Environmental Services at my local Council who because of the nature of the materials (you can't just take them to the tip) couldn't help me but advised me to contact a hazardous waste disposal company to see if they could. I tried one, who couldn't and then I tried 'Micro Environmental' who have been fantastic. The CEO, Mark Hearsey was very professional and helpful, even giving instruction in how to store the materials as safely as possible until they could be picked up for proper disposal. A time and date were given for pickup which happened an hour earlier than planned and all relevant paperwork passed over.
It was a huge relief for me when this material was gone from my possession. I was very happy to pay the very reasonable cost of this disposal.
I was very impressed by the professional actions of Mark and his team and would recommend getting in touch with his company to anyone with a hazardous waste problem. Thank you Mark. You have a genuine five star operation. Bill Kelly.
