Katrina and Derek are so welcoming and go out of their way to make your holiday special. The house and gardens are beautiful and very well maintained. We had the family room which was just right for our two night stay with the grandchildren. Breakfasts are excellent with a big choice of cooked dishes and a vast array of fruit, much of it from their own garden, and cereals. They had time to talk to us about where we might like to visit and gave us good recommendations. We stayed many years ago and the standards are just as high. Self catering and camping is also available.

What can we say other than a huge THANK YOU! Wonderful hosts, nothing was too much. Katrina made us feel extremely comfortable and welcome. Our special day was made even better by staying in such a gorgeous hotel.. and breakfast was 10/10! Thank you so much- we really do appreciate it.

We had a lovely stay at The Hayloft in late August. The property was first class and was equipped with everything we needed. The little extras of homemade bread, marmalade, biscuits and eggs were a very pleasant surprise. The main highlight of our stay was the fabulous garden. It was very relaxing to sit on the bench outside of the property or to look at it through the living room window. It was also easy to get to a number of seaside resorts from here. After visiting the tourist hotspots, it was nice to return to the peace and quiet of The Hayloft. The owners must work hard to keep this standard.

Derek and Katrina have spent half a lifetime restoring this lovely old house, and the result is idyllic. We spent a week there exploing the coast, the Wolds, and the North Yorkshire Moors. The room was spacious and beautifully furnished, and the ensuite clean and modern. Katrina's breakfast each day was equal to any five-star hotel! There are lots of pubs offering meals in the surrounding villages, but a special shout-out to the Farrier restaurant in Cayton and The Wolds Restaurant in Flixton, which were outstanding. We discovered both of them using Katrina's list of recommendations in the room. Wold Cottage is a gem. (Jan and Kevin, Pennsylvania)

From the very first welcome to the time we said goodbye, all of our needs were met and our stay exceeded expectations. The hosts were warm and charming and the accommodation was amazing. The attention to detail was faultless and the surroundings were peaceful. We will definitely be returning, hopefully for a longer duration next time.

Superb.
An old (1750s) house, in a beautiful, quiet rural location in the Yorkshire Wolds. The house has been carefully restored and updated, maintaining its character, but with modern facilities. Our room (the Miss Davy suite) looked out over the garden and on to a classic pastoral scene, complete with sheep. The room was tastefully furnished, in character, and was immaculate. The bathroom was HUGE, with a large, walk-in shower.

The owners, Katrina and Derek, made us so welcome. They are delightful, genuine people, who clearly enjoy what they do, and they do it extremely well. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble.

Breakfast was excellent, with a great selection of cereals, fresh fruit yogurt and so on, and an extensive cooked breakfast menu. Again, really well done - cooked, presented and served.

I really cannot speak highly enough of The Wold Cottage. It is a true delight.

My wife and I spent a delightful week at The Wold Cottage, which offers a combination of luxury and homeliness. Rooms are beautifully decorated. Every possible comfort has been thought of. Breakfasts are bespoke and delicious. The proprietors are deeply rooted in the area and always ready to supply information about places to visit. They are helpful in every way, without ever being intrusive. Altogether, a "home form home"

We stayed in The Robson family room for 3 nights with breakfast. |The rooms were spacious, modern and clean. We had everything we needed. The grounds of the property are stunning. ||The breakfast was beautiful with a good choice from cereals, fruits, yoghurts/jams, fruit juices and your choice of cooked breakfast. Our last day we had some beautiful fresh bread. ||Thank you for a lovely stay. ||Our 2 young boys thoroughly enjoyed themselves. We would definitely stay again.
