Bought a replacement hob for our kitchen. All our questions about installation were thoroughly answered and they gave us the confidence to wire it up ourselves. All staff were friendly, polite and knowledgeable. Great to be able to go into a local store and get great personal service instead of an impersonal chain store. We would go back again and recommend

Sharp microwave lasted less than 6 months. No offer of help from either Beacons or Sharp. I used to purchase locally to support my community and hopefully get better service. Don’t bother. I feel taken advantage of due to my age. Everything in my kitchen is from Beacons over the years. Never again. UPDATE Thank you for your call and reply Ben. After I advised of the issue, and after your initial call acknowledging my contact, all calls were made by me. At the end of the day, I spent £300 on an appliance that lasted 5 months. If someone had come out to see the damage, they could have also seen the exact pans etc I use - they are all good quality, and in line with those the instruction manual instructed. I had just hoped for better service.

Disappointing Experience with Faulty Lamp and Poor Customer Service

Review:
I recently purchased a lamp and bulb from Beacon Electrical in Totnes. While I appreciated the opportunity to see the lamp in person, my experience was ultimately very disappointing.
Immediately upon using the lamp in my Plymouth office, I noticed flickering at the highest setting. While initially tolerable, the flickering worsened within a day, occurring even on low settings.
I returned the lamp to Beacon expecting a refund, as I had purchased a replacement elsewhere. However, I was met with a lack of apology and the claim that the issue was the bulb (which they had selected for me). Despite not testing the lamp themselves, they refused a refund due to the absence of the original packaging.
I had to travel all the way from Plymouth to return the item, and the entire experience left me feeling frustrated and dissatisfied. I will not be using Beacon Electrical again.

Superb customer service and outstanding value for money from a local company.

After Vicky in the Totnes store recommended that the LEC fridge and freezer would meet my needs, I read the reviews on the John Lewis website, but I knew I would buy from Beacon. Past experience with this company over many years told me I’d be wasting my time looking elsewhere. The whole purchase – the fridge and freezer, free delivery, disposal charges and reversal of one door – was outstanding value for money. Why search online when a local company can provide what you need at the right price, with excellent service from everyone concerned, both in person and on the phone?

Outstanding service and value for money. Don't go anywhere else. Ordered a heat pump tumble dryer and was cheaper than both John Lewis and Amazon. Good value delivery and removal service too. 5 stars!

This is a brilliant shop. I highly recommend it. The staff are helpful, friendly and never rushed but give as much time as you need to make a choice and they know their stuff.I have recently purchased a cooker, fridge freezer and cooker extractor and had my old appliances removed and cannot rate them highly enough. I like to support local business but more than this if something goes wrong I can pick up the phone and talk to a real person or go into the shop. So much more satisfactory than on line and good prices too.
