I think I’ve only ever left one review before, but I needed to re-sign into my account so I could leave a review for the great people at Strathbogie as they really do deserve it. I dealt with Peter initially who was fantastic at getting a deal together on a new strimmer for my business and was really fair on pricing. Whilst waiting for the strimmer to arrive I asked if it was possible to change out the large head for a smaller one and it was a none issue for Emma, who not only sourced one but had it fitted for when I arrived. She also allowed me to change out a strimmer guard for one with better visibility and did it right at the end of the day even though they were just about to close. What an absolute legend and a real credit Strathbogie.

This whole experience has been one of a ‘can do attitude’ and it was a pleasure to be treated in such a kind way. If you need garden equipment or machinery and you are based in Scotland give these guys a shout, you really won’t be disappointed 🙏🙌

Really excellent workshop and maintenance facility - but they get very full so there may be a long wait before your equipment is fixed.

Excellent display of safety and protective clothing and accessories. Pricing is simply a reflection of the quality of items on offer. Knowledgeable advice available from all staff to assist with equipment selection.

I have always found them fantastic. Great service and sales. Their prices are fair and they are always willing to do a deal. Excellent service and warranty issues.
I cant fault them and have dealt with them for years.
I currently have an AutoMower in Banchory area and they collect and drop off for service etc. Always extremely helpful and friendly.

Great place. Very knowledgeable staff and substantial stocks of all you need. From occasional use to full on pro' gear it's all under one roof. Prices are substantially better than most rip off garden centres.

Received bad service and misleading advice overall. Bought an axe after spending half an hour talking though the options with a salesman, he was very nice and knowledgeable. I went for a premium option as I was told it was worth the extra money and would last.

However, after 10 minutes of use for the first time the following weekend, the shaft began to splinter! Now I accept full responsibility that perhaps one or two swings (out of hundreds) didn’t land right, and I should have stopped using it, but I had to finish the job. Very quickly, even perfect split swings were fraying the wooden shaft further.

I took it back to the shop, willing to accept I may been at fault in part, but thought surly the advice to go for a premium product should mean it would be more durable and survive one missed hit on the first day of use. However the sales assistant (a different one this time) was very defensive and dismissive. He said you needed to be 100% accurate every time, or any sort of warranty was void. Even if this was true, I felt like this should have been explained at point of sale! That’s quite a high risk when your spending a decent bit on money on a tool you’ve been told is good.

Still expecting the sales staff to be knowledgeable, I asked it if would affect the performance, ie would the head eventually come loose? The sales person then got really defensive and said that was none of their concern and could tell me nothing. I was happy to make my own judgement on this, but it left me with a feeling I had been sold a more expensive product than I needed or was suitable, with a fairly unreasonable expectation of use, only to be told get lost when it turned out not to be any good.

I was only really trying to get to the bottom of why it had deteriorated so quickly, but the sales person made me feel like I was acting like some sort of scammer. Eventually he offered to send it away for investigation, but it felt more like a threat, as he said it would ‘take weeks and would likely not be replaced.’

Over all it felt like a classic bait and switch to oversell products, with poor aftersales service. I had heard good things about this store and had actually gone a long way to visit it 🙁
