CHECK YOUR DERMAFIX DEVICE - IT HAS THE CE MARK ON THE BOX WHICH IS NOT THE CE MARK REQUIRED FOR MICRONEEDLING ACCORDING TO THE MHRA .IT IS A CHINESE ELECTRICAL CHECK CERTIFICATE- CHECK THAT YOUR INSURANCE WILL STILL COVER YOU WITHOUT IT
I am so upset as I write this . I trained with Emma Coates in feb this year . I thought the microneedling training was amazing . The tutor went through everything in depth . We were shown how to treat acne , pigmentation , surgical scars , etc etc
We were trained using the dermafix k pen , the same pen that is in the kit they encourage you to buy . The tutor explained that you have to be careful to always buy a device that is CE marked , just like the dermafix k , the CE mark is on back of the packaging . As you may struggle to get insurance without it . I had just bought the DR Pen , but a it wasn’t CE marked I put it in the bin and bought the dermafix k
After having issues with the pen I decided to look into the device CE marking so asked the company for a copy of the CE certificate . Pheobe quickly replied saying that the pen wasn’t CE marked but the cartridges were . After checking on the MHRA I know that it was the device that needed to have this marking . I challenged Phoebe and she replied THIS TIME saying the pen is CE marked . So again I asked for the copy of the certificate .
She replies with a certificate that has been made in China and was just a Chinese electrical check . Not the CE mark that the MHRA insist on when treating the conditions Emma Coates trained me in .
I contacted my insurance company and they have invalidated my insurance as the £850 device is nothing but a cheap non certified device .
I have asked for a refund and been refused . I am now pursuing with my claim with the help of Trading Standards and the MHRA. Emma has called me and emailed me claiming that she doesn’t need a CE mark on her device as it’s just for cosmetic treatments . She said that she doesn’t train people to treat acne . I would encourage you all to check the training manual and notes from your training .I was trained to treat acne at a depth of 0.25 and surgical scars up to 2. It clearly states it in the handbook.and the other students in my group also have notes to support this . Emma continues to deny this . All I want is to offer the best treatments with compliant devices in an ethical manner. Companies like these are the ones that give the industry a bad name .
They have now threatened me with their legal team if I leave a bad review .
