A Magical 40th Birthday Celebration!

We recently celebrated my partner’s 40th birthday at The Porter and Sorter Croydon and I can’t thank Morgan C and the team enough for making it truly unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, everything felt special. The staff had arranged personalised decorations and balloons at our table, which added such a thoughtful and festive touch.

To top it all off, we were surprised with a complimentary bottle of bubbles to kick off the celebration — such a generous and classy gesture that made my partner feel truly celebrated.

If you're looking for a venue to host a special celebration, I wholeheartedly recommend The Porter and Sorter Croydon. They made our night magical, and we’ll cherish the memories forever.

Great pub and beer but service and atmosphere is whats sells the Porter.
with about 25 of us ordering food at short notice, we were well looked after and there was no drop in quality. Shout out to Dom, really looked after us, top guy.

We visited the Porter and Sorter in Croydon for an extended family member’s 18th birthday party, and overall had a pleasant experience. The pub was decorated with lots of Halloween decorations, which made for a fun and festive atmosphere, especially being so close to Halloween. The staff were quite friendly and welcoming, and the general vibe was warm and relaxed with upbeat early 2000s music playing in the background.

The food looked good, although we didn’t get to try much of it ourselves. We did order some chips for our picky-eating kids, which were tasty but the medium size portion was surprisingly small, so we ordered two more. Unfortunately, those extra portions were lost along the way, but to their credit, the staff cooked another batch for us at no extra cost, even though the kitchen had just closed — a really nice touch.

The drinks were decent, though nothing particularly special. Overall, the Porter and Sorter offered a friendly, lively atmosphere that worked perfectly for a casual celebration, with staff who handled a busy night graciously.

Absolutely love the Porter and Sorter! Dan who runs it is absolutely amazing always welcoming and makes sure there’s a great atmosphere every time. Themed nights are always so much fun, the food is delicious, and the drinks are very reasonably priced (drinks are drinks, but you can’t fault the value here!). The staff are all super friendly, and it’s the kind of pub where you always feel comfortable and surrounded by good people. Honestly, just a brilliant pub all round can’t recommend it enough!

This pub is my local so I go here from time to time. It is run by friendly staff where they do good food and a big selection of drinks. It is always clean and tidy, including the toilets. The music isn't too bad either. Good atmosphere. They have a pool table 🎱. Televisions to watch the latest news and sport. I went here to watch a football game. This place has plenty of screens and a good selection of
beers but not ciders unfortunately. The staff were good, didn't have to wait long to get service. The only issue I have is that the toilet looks like something from the 1980s , definitely needs some serious updating and cleaning. That aside it's a decent enough place to watch sports.

Great location, welcoming staff who were genuinely happy and friendly! That makes such a difference. Cameron was brilliant. The birthday party was awesome with a great DJ and dedicated area to dance .. all in all a great place to hold a party!
