Just returned from a break before I go in for an operation to find, we have no gas. We moved from Calor as we had run out of gas with them on two occasions. After running out of gas with Avanti last time, an emergency delivery was arranged for later the same day. I was also told this would not happen again as I was on a top up system.
Called this morning to report that I had no gas and I was told someone would call me back to tell me when the delivery would arrive. No call, so I rang them again and was told that due to the bank holiday, the head office was now closed and nothing will be sorted for at least five days.
Customer services could do no more, couldn’t contact the Depot, couldn’t contact the head office, couldn’t arrange emergency delivery.
When I first moved to Avanti, they were brilliant. Now, when my contract runs out I will be moving to another company.
Appalling service. Can’t get over the contract, can’t get gas delivered!!!
I had to go agree before they would look at bringing gas out to pay £240 if they turned up and there was gas in the tank. They didn’t make the same promise to pay me £240 if they didn’t turn up! Seems very one-sided

Dreadful company. They make up the rules as they see go along. Front line staff are armed with a script and are not able to offer anything other than their apologies. I was totally refused access to anyone of a more senior position to help with my problem. Could not even get a direct number to head office to escalate problem myself. My problem: empty gas tank (on 2%), no heating and no hot water and no one to authorise a delivery!
In this day and age, winter 2024, I find this appalling.(no financial issues, £500 in credit as I write this!)

In the town where Avanti reigns supreme,
Customers live a nightmare, not a dream.
Accounts a mess, like tangled twine,
Bills sky-high, no end in line.

They promise checks for safety’s sake,
But empty vows are all they make.
Pipes unchecked, a ticking bomb,
Families pray for a lasting calm.

Winter’s chill, the gas runs out,
Avanti leaves them with a doubt.
No heat to warm, no flame to light,
They shiver through the endless night.

Their calls for help, a ghostly plea,
Lost in the void, no remedy.
Avanti’s name, a curse, a cry,
As hope fades under the darkened sky.

For justice comes, a righteous tide,
To right the wrongs you cannot hide.

Unfortunately I've had to deal with this terrible company and I have recently written to my local MP and the energy regulator to complain about their practice of withdrawing vital services to customers.

I owed Avanti gas the grand sum of just £23.00. Despite my having paid on a standing order regularly for 8 years and despite the fact that during the summer months I was often in credit. For this small amount of money, they stopped my account and delivering gas and left myself and my small granddaughter without heating and hot water.

What other vital service would be allowed to do this! Especially in covid times.

Absolutely criminal company with a finance department of dictators who are happy to withdraw vital heat and hot water during a cold spring for the small sum of £23. Despite my regular payments and despite my ringing them to explain the money would be paid shortly.

as I sit here cold and unshowered without gas , with the phone unanswered after one hour calling I wish I hadnt switched from flogas to save a few pence . Looking at respective depot structure Avanti cannot cover south wales adequately and so much for auto top us service .
I did however ring as a new customer and a lovely lady answered in one minute but funny enough couldnt help me although sitting in same office as customer service
By way of update a week later , every company has problems and this is when customer service should be strong . Once I finally got though they prioritised a delivery in 24 hours , an excellent driver turned up at 07.30 in the morning and didnt leave until he ensured the gas had reconnected and everything was worknig again , many thanks

Used to be one of the best for price and service, Now by far the worst! Up for bulk lpg gas contract renewal and price went from 35p per ltr to 75p per ltr !! When I tried to call to see if could be improved on I was told sorry that it .. basically we don't want to sell you gas ... flo gas at 49ppl or calor at 51ppl .
