I’ve been here a few times and eaten both in the café in the shop downstairs and the larger restaurant upstairs. Food quality has always been good and the traditional Welsh cawl eaten on this visit was very tasty with lovely crispy bread and a chunk of cheese. The staff are always friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere good.

Fair, average, middling. All those things.
The food was tasty enough and, though we didn't get exactly what we ordered, the kids didn't notice so we ate anyway.

The staff were smiling and happy in their work. The wait was a little long for what we ordered and everything tasted pretty okay.

Odd layout though. Very weird atmosphere, like you're eating somewhere you shouldn't.

Sadly miserable young staff at the top which made my decision not to return. Feel sorry for the European female who is wonderful and has to endure the day working with them.
Other than that... Wonderful setting, Good food and the staff at the bottom seem nice too.

Upstairs over a nice looking deli, the staff suggested we go upstairs . On a busy sunday, the almost empty cafe should have warned us! Eventually served, food indifferent, and expensive for it's quantity and quality, certainly won't repeat the visit next time we're in Aberaeron.
Sorry, but in this day and age, simply not good enough!

We visited in January and it was very busy even then but I’m sad to say that despite an inspiring sounding menu this place just missed the mark in so many ways. To start with it was freezing the table hadn’t been cleaned and there were no clear instructions telling you if it was table service- it wasn’t! After ordering we had to wait 50 minutes for our food only to find the veggie wrap (feta cheese, sun dried tomatoes lettuce pesto) had been substituted for a veggie finger which was hot with loads of pesto and very wilted lettuce it was horrible and I couldn’t understand why I hadn’t been asked what I would like. I returned it to the counter and had to stand around waiting while no one apologised and the chef said you want cheese? The whole thing had just put me off . Meanwhile my family had eaten some of their food but neither were very impressed. A waitress seemed to take pity on us and offered us a refund for the meal and a free dessert the crepes were nice but nothing special. Fair play to the waitress but we won’t be returning.

Highest praise for the staff upstairs - I stupidly forgot to mention that I had a food allergy and when they brought out my meal with something I am deathly allergic to, they were so kind about it and recooked my meal even though they could have reminded me that it was my own fault. They did their best not to make me feel bad about it and refused to charge me extra for recooking the meal. It was also one of the best breakfasts out I have ever had, the ingredients were tasty and perfectly cooked. The atmosphere was good and we loved being on the terrace. And the staff were more than fantastic. Highly commended, and thank you so much!
