The medical staff were inefficient, most of the receptionists were dismissive. Very often the tone and attitude I received were completely unprofessional, and the booking system is an absolute mess. It felt like they were doing everything possible to block access to care rather than help. Of course I’ve since moved to a different practice where patients are treated with respect and urgency—something Avonside clearly lacks. I will actively encourage everyone I can to avoid this practice.

Amazing service from all levels of health care officials. From the receptionist who spotted a problem with my mothers medication and was able to get an appointment that day, to nurse Ellen, for doing all the necessary obs and spotting something wasn't right and the emergency doctor Dr Nancarrow who as able to coax her into hospital with his fantastic manner. I can't thank you enough. Such a wonderful caring practice .

We’ve been registered with this GP practice for nearly 7 years and we are not at all happy with how difficult it is to obtain appointments, even when we call right at 8.30am. We cannot tell
you a single GPs name as we simply have no relationship with the staff. I saw a nurse a few weeks ago who suggested I book a review appointment with a GP to get some bloods done based on my symptoms. I went to the desk and asked for an appointment in the near future. I was told I cannot book in advance (the nurse said I could) but to call at 8.30am and get one on the day! How are people who work supposed to book non-urgent appointments and be able to give notice to work to attend an appointment if it is virtually impossible to get one!? It would be good if there was some flexibility for appointments that are not urgent but still need a GP to review. Never had a practice experience like this one.

This is a good and efficient GP practice that I'd recommend. Over the 1.5 years I've been a patient here, I have always managed to get appointments when I needed them with the doctor of my choosing, with the receptionists giving good advice on likely availability ahead of time. The GP explains her clinical rationale, encourages joint decision making and is compassionate and caring. She definitely went the extra mile several times. Thank you Avonside!

New receptionist really stresses me out. She is not helpful at all. It's like she's is automated, Yep she definitely triggered me, three times I've spoke to this reception lady and ended up really upset.
I love the ladies in reception, they are lovely, compassionate, caring, and I am so grateful for all the help they have given me over the years, I can speak with them about my condition and they are so helpful. I've been at the practice for many many years. The doctors are great too.
Get with the programme new reception lady a little empathy wouldn't go amiss. I dread phoning the surgery incase you are on.
