As delivery driver I'm very upset with your gate man's training try to impale your site rules on public road and telling van drivers from with side of the road they will be banned from site if the come to deliver I'm also delivering next doors to private homes so i should do extra 5 miles becouse he said so , I'm class as 3.5 only , also demand to wait delivery's on double yellow lines next to junction with is busy junction this is not acceptable , also reversing on site betwen machinery without banks man not acceptable

I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with the property I purchased from Barratt Homes, reputed to be the largest real estate developer in the UK. My nightmare began on the day the house was handed over to me in January 2023. During the inspection, we identified a problem with the bathtub where the safety drain was draining slower than the water inlet, posing a risk of water overflowing. We immediately raised this issue with Barratt, and a week later, their workers arrived to inspect and opened up the bathtub. Unfortunately, eight months have passed and the issue has not been rectified. Despite countless emails to the developers, no maintenance work has been carried out and my bathtub remains dismantled. What further exacerbates the situation is the fact that I am not alone in this predicament. I have come to learn that my neighbours faced a similar problem that led to their house being flooded, forcing them to replace all their flooring. I am frustrated that such a problem, which should be relatively easy to fix, has escalated to this extent. Looking at the current state of affairs, I have noticed Barratt’s construction sites have been in a semi-halted state for a while. Where there used to be dozens of workers bustling from Monday to Saturday, the sites are now often deserted or only have a few workers present. Given the recent rise in interest rates, the UK housing bubble seems to be bursting, especially with rapidly cooling property prices around London. With growing concerns, I reached out to Barratt to inquire if they were on the brink of bankruptcy and if this was the reason for their inability to carry out the bathtub repair. To my disappointment, I received no response. At this point, I am unsure whether I should continue to wait for Barratt to take action or take matters into my own hands, pay for the repair myself, and later seek reimbursement from them. The latter option might, however, expose me to additional costs and potential legal expenses. Adding to the financial stress, the monthly mortgage repayment has skyrocketed from £1704, as stated by the sales representative a year ago, to £2921 due to the rise in interest rates. With the additional burden, I may not be able to afford to sue the developers. And even if I were to win, there is the looming uncertainty that I might not be able to receive any compensation if the half-shut-down developer declares bankruptcy. I am truly at a loss on how to proceed. The entire experience has been incredibly disappointing and distressing. I sincerely hope no one else has to endure such an ordeal while purchasing a property.

I recently purchased a new home from Barratt, the so-called "largest developer in the UK" known for their high-quality builds. I must express my disappointment. The door frame in the picture provided is visibly cracked. Worse, the chain lock, ostensibly a safety feature, is disappointingly affixed to a piece of cardboard-like material. It seems to serve more as decoration than a genuine security measure. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Barratt's apartments to anyone looking for reliable safety features in their home. Their reputation for quality, in my case, does not match the reality.

As a potential client of this development you will have prompt responses from the sales and customer teams. However, once you exchange on a property that is where the promptness of communication ends.
My experience has been nothing short of abysmal, with incessant delays and barely any communication unless chased, I worry what the after sales service will be like.
It is obvious that there is a lack of staff at this facility. The move-in dates on the website change ever so frequently, over the last month it has said move in this summer, June, August and now it says this year.
I appreciate there have been several delays due to COVID etc, but basic customer management and communication is seriously lacking.
The Dufour apartments that are part of the development appear unique but with these increased delays, unknows and no customer management whatsoever I am unsure if it is mentally worth the wait.

Honestly not worth the bother. Once they have your reservation fee expect to hear absolutely zero comms from their team, and good luck ever getting them on the phone. I was completely scammed out of £500.

I spoke with another person who already moved in, as we crossed paths as I was leaving their office (I had to travel 90 miles to go in person to speak with anyone), and they told me of their horrors of snagging, water not working, power going out, internet dropping and noisy building that is due to continue for another 3 years at least.

Significant delays and still a building site. Horrendous customer service after they take your reservation fee. Look elsewhere, yes this is cheap versus other London or suburb areas but ask yourself why.

Avoid like the plague. Their sales team are your best friend until you sign, then all I can say is gooooooood luck.

They will tell you whatever you want to hear over the phone, if you can ever get them on the phone, and then never follow through with anything. You will never get anything in writing. Absolute swindlers, clearly trained on how to best take advantage of buyers. I wish I had gone with another development.

Moved in here in March and it's been an uphill struggle back-to-back with Barratts. Extremely poor quality of work (having to get workmen in STILL to fix lots of snags still), flies present in lots of flats, delays in both communication or just no shows from members of the team (Lee has been particularly poor), heating/hot water/power dropping out intermittently on a weekly basis.

DO NOT PURCHASE A PROPERTY HERE.
