What can I say.
I'll try to be short.
Called this company almost 4 years ago for an heat pump installation. Overall everything was ok, job done in almost a week, they left me though with 2 big holes in my ceiling/wall due to the old heat pump connection and I was told only when the job was done that I should have called someone else to have them patched up, which eneded up to be difficult finding someone and had to do this ourselves. Beside this, the set up of the heat pump was made wrong so, basically, pump doesn't work because they didn't install the central thermostat (the pump already have one built in but it reads the room temperature where it is installed, instead of reading the house temperature, which in that room is higher and so, the pump never turn on... contacted mitsubishi which confirmed I need a central thermostat which they never installed because "no needed" they said).
I tried to contact them to solve the problem, they at first answered to my emails then stopped all together, never heard back, never solved the problem. Contacted them again few years later to install some solar panels, never heard back. They are good though to answer when it's time for the yearly service. This years they contacted me about that, very fast to send you an invoice, then I contacted them again to check my underfloor heating, I sent at least 3 emails, 2 what's app messages, my husband emailed them too and never heard back (and they saw the messages). So basically they are good when they want to be, otherwise I would advice to stay away from this company.

So disappointing. I have been trying to get a service appointment for 5 months. No returned calls, no emails replied to. Ib4 no I am not a customer, i purchased a house serviced BIR though am unable to make contact to become a customer. Looks like the grant bonanza for new installs means service requests for existing ones are simply ignored.

Black Isle Renewables installed a new heat pump central heating system for us. Would highly recommend. They also renewed a lot old hot/cold water pipework for us. The engineers were excellent and whole team who organised the project for us were great too. The building is so much warmer now and water pressure much improved. Thank you so much!

We got a full air source system with 10 radiators installed to replace our storage heaters in October 2019. We compared BIR and another company, however we chose BIR because of the time taken by Chris Cowan , Technical Engineer, to answer every question we had.
The installation was carried out by engineers Dan and Ruairidh who were excellent and any unexpected problems they came across during the installation was fully discussed with me and an solution was found. Nothing was to much trouble for them and they were a pleasure to have in the house.
A few months on there is nothing we would change, not a radiator size or placement and this is down to BIR getting it right from the start.
The system is brilliant and transformed our home - we could not be happier and would recommend BIR to anyone who wishes to up grade their heating system.

Got BIR in to look at a massively overcomplex system installed in village hall in 2018 by others, with associated runaway electricity bills. Engineer made sound recommendations which were carried out by a very patient electrical tech who explained what was being done every step of the way.
This has left us with a greater understanding of system operation and ability to control system as required. Great comms from office, scheduling visits etc. Highly recommended.

Very disappointing after care service. Despite several attempts to get proper after care service for the plumbing associated with our pellet boiler, we still have non-original replacement for a pump that failed during installation. This is years go 🙁
