Amazing set up, lovely people. Always ready to answer questions and give advice. Volunteering is also good fun and very relaxed atmosphere. I purchased plenty of pallet wood during the summer and this was the result.

I designed a sword mount last year and visited the wood recycling project in December to see if it would be possible to make something similar to what I had in mind. I met Kaleb who was very helpful and showed me the selection of appropriate woods available and got  back to me with various quotes for the discussed design variations. Eventually I decided to get the sword mount made from scaffolding board with routed profile dges and a dark beeswax finish, and went back in to trace the design out. In early January I picked the completed sword mount but only got around to putting it up last week - hence the very delayed review! A couple of additional layers of the darkest beeswax I could find were applied after pick-up but the main body of the work was done solely by the wood recycling project and they did a really great job at making my paper design into an actual object. I felt very included in the design process so I would highly reccomend them if you're looking to get something custom made -Thanks a lot guys! =)

What an amazing place , Cass was so very friendly and helpful , even when I was interrupting teabreak . I found some old dado rail , length of thin oak and half sheet of ply , the only thing I couldn’t get that was on my list was a length of live edge , not because they didn’t have extensive stock but because it would have meant leaving my friend behind . I would be here weekly for all my timber needs if it were closer to home . I love the fact that all the timber is being recycled. Fantastic place , well worth a visit .

‘Staff’ we’re basically a load of youngsters sat around a picnic table eating and drinking tea. They couldn’t be bothered with customers! I felt like I’d just walked into a strangers house whist they were eating their dinner. It felt REALLY uncomfortable!! They basically ignored me.

Great resource staffed by REALLY helpful people. I used it for materials for raised beds but there is so much more!

Decent stock if you tolerate the appalling customer service.

Edit post response from the owner:

I did NOT ask for a calculation on the spot - I asked if someone could have a look in the coming days and get back to me. This is not an unreasonable request when buying floorboards - knowing what square footage is available is a pretty standard request.
