Absolutely amazing! from when i phoned to organize to when the car had been dropped off, the service, price and people were amazing! i shopped around for quotes some come out at £350! but Cambridge car solutions were by far the cheapest, Lee was brilliant, very professional, i would recommend 110%, i will definitely be using again in the future, THANK YOU!!!!!!!

Lee has been an absolute hero! After having the stress of my car breaking down I needed to get it to a garage. All day I had been panicking with what todo, when I called Lee he was nothing but professional and managed to get a quote back to me within 10 minutes, so we arranged for the car to be collected the next day! I couldn’t believe how quick and easy it was to get the car booked in. The next morning Lee came to collect the car and take it to the garage, his customer service is outstanding very knowledgeable and made me feel at ease with a stressful situation. A week later I contacted Lee to collect my car from the garage and take back home and again he made another stressful situation less, nothing seemed too much of an issue and his customer service is why I can’t recommend him enough I will definitely be using in the future.

I wish to recount an unpleasant experience with a company called Cambridge Car Solutions, so as to warn others.

My car broke down in a quiet Cambridge street, nowhere dangerous, but on a double yellow line. I booked into a nearby garage for diagnosis and repair but they had no facility to collect the car themselves. So I Googled for a car recovery truck, found Cambridge Car Solutions, and called them, explaining I would like the car to be moved around 2 miles from its breakdown location to the garage. They quoted £118+VAT, which I agreed to.

The truck driver duly turned up and met me at the car (1/2 late for the appointment). Without getting out of his truck, he stared at my car and asked if it was an automatic. I confirmed it was. He immediately said "That's going to be an extra £65". When I enquired why, he explained that the car was probably stuck in "park" so the wheels would not turn, so he needed to put the car on skates. My response was that this should have been explained beforehand, to which he answered "You should have told us it was an automatic".

So have a think about this: the so-called expert is suddenly blaming the customer for not having said the car was an automatic. In fact, I had provided the car details, make, model, age, and answered all question asked, when I made the booking the day before. But the truck driver did not want to know.

I explained to the truck driver that the price I had been quoted was what I was willing to pay, but no more. Very quickly, he became aggressive and rude. I then called his office, and encountered an equally rude person, who said "If you don't pay the additional £65, you will have to pay a call-out charge". I was neither rude nor abusive to him, and responded that I would not be paying either of those things and that if they continued trying to increase their price by £65, I would find another company to move the car. His immediate reaction was astonishing: "I hope you find it really difficult to find someone to move your car, and that it doesn't work out for you at all, and..." I cut him off at this point.

I then went back out to the truck driver and explained he was no longer required. The truck driver then became irate and rude, but that conversation was so puerile as to not be worth reporting.

It took me 10 minutes on Google to find another local company willing to do the job for £70. Moreover, the new company immediately told me the wheels would NOT be locked and that no skates would be required (he was correct).

Bottom line: Cambridge Car Solutions is evidently the sort of company that tries to take advantage of someone's predicament, i.e. having broken down somewhere, bolstering their prices on the spot after having quoted lower to get the job, expecting most customers to reluctantly cave in just to get out of an awkward situation as quickly as possible. This company should be avoided like the plague.

Lee was absolutely wonderful! He provided us great roadside service and was very helpful. He even went the extra mile to help us figure out the issue with our vehicle and recommend garages to fix it. Would 100% recommend!

I had dealings with Cambridge Car Solutions on the 25th June 2024 when l sold my peugeot 406 to them as scrap. The pick up and collection went fairly well after a couple of changed days and times. When they turned up to collect the Vehicle l informed them that l could not find the logbook, l was told that's ok they would get a replacement and sort it all out but they would have to deduct that from the price. l said that's fine l just wanted to get rid of it, they deducted the money and paid the remaining money into my account which was instant. about 6 weeks later l had a letter from DVLA saying that my car was not taxed. l contacted DVLA and told them the situation and they said they had not been informed of the change of owner, so l apologised and said l would chase it up. l contacted Cambridge Car Solutions and told them , where l was told not to worry the paperwork was sent in and there was no problem. Almost a year on and l have now received a letter from DVLA saying that l owe them an £80 penalty charge for not sending in the paperwork letting them know the Vehicle had changed hands !! I again contacted the young lady at Cambridge car solutions and told her what had happened and within only a couple of hours she had refunded my bank account with the £80 everyone happy !!!

Cannot rate Cambridge Car Solutions enough!
Lee was my angel of mercy today.... he went above and beyond to get my car started, went and got me a new battery, fitted it and got it on it's way to the garage.
