Great place to buy some mushroom compost . Take a shovel own bag or they do have some. It was £2.00 for a largebag on my visit. They also sell boxes of organic mushrooms i bought a box for £6.00 about 4 pound in weight. So fresh and tasty. Peopke are lovely and friendly. All available from there office. Well worth a trip. The compost so good for the garden too.

Went to buy spent mushroom compost for an allotment, so I cannot comment on the main purpose of the business! This is however an organic farm, so good to know.

Easy to find, using Google maps. Good set up; I checked in at the office, but didn't know how many bags of compost I could fit into the car, which wasn't a problem. You get directed to the compost pile, which is tucked just the other side of the farm. Very few people about, so I only needed a face mask for going into the office. Hand sanitiser is available at the office door.

The spent mushroom compost is not pre-bagged, so you must take your own bags, garden fork or shovel, gloves, wellies and I would advise that you have a protective cover for the boot/car floor. I used empty 70 litre compost bags, so £2 per bag is a bargain. I paid on the way out, once I knew how many bags I had filled.

Be careful, as the spent mushroom compost, like all muck, is heavy (especially if it has been raining), so be realistic, as this is a lone job and hefting bags into cars is tricky and awkward. The size of bag you use it up to you.

This is a cash only purchase, so make sure you have small denomination notes and £1 coins. If you have a trailer, all the better, as you can purchase by trailer load, which might make this supply of an organic mulch material all the more economical.

The farm no longer has a direct delivery service of larger amounts of compost, but another local farmer is providing this service, so you can get his contact name from Capel Mushrooms.

I am happy to use this service again. I forgot to ask if you can direct buy mushrooms! There doesn't appear to be a website, but there is a Facebook page for information.
