We’ve been so impressed by Nigel, Lorraine and the whole team.

Firstly, the patience and desire to make sure we were informed and making the right choices for our needs and to suit our home. Nigel talked us through all the options and his responsiveness and expertise was outstanding.

Secondly, we have been informed from the outset on timeframe, options and price. If we could make a sensible saving, we were made aware and we really trusted the guidance we received. It was our choices but they were always informed.

Finally, the craftsmanship and desire to achieve perfection by Nigel and Carl was so impressive and we’re so very grateful. The end result is stunning, but to be honest it comes as no surprise as it simply matches the service from the start.

I’m not one to regularly write reviews but feel compelled to here, and I have no hesitation recommending.

I had a Gazco Logic Convector fire with a Sherbourne white micro marble surround installed in my lounge in January 2025 by Nigel and Carl. The fireplace looks fantastic and the heat level is so easy to control. From start to finish, Lorraine in the showroom was welcoming, very knowledgeable and helpful, but not pushy.
She guided me to the correct choices of fires for my chimney breast dimensions and flue type. I was impressed with the communication from the Company to me throughout the purchasing and installation process. The overall price was excellent value for money and it's a beautiful, stylish centrepiece to my lounge. I would recommend Character Coving without reservation to anyone wanting a fabulous fire and surround.

I contacted them via their contact form regarding my fireplace stove glass that cracked. They helped me identify the stove I had and ordered the glass for me and gave me an estimated arrival date. With it being over Christmas and new year period there were delays but they kept me up to date.
When I collected they helped me check it was the right one and disposed of the broken glass for me.

Right from the word go, the whole experience has been wonderful. From first, going to the shop and meeting Lorraine to the fitting of the stove by Nigel and friends.we had an issue with an extension we had added to our house, didn’t consider the heating factor in winter. We used to come down in the morning and it was like an ice box and it was costing a fortune in electric as do not have gas. Lorraine was on the ball straight away and knew exactly what we wanted and also saved us money by going through the roof instead of the wall like other companies had advised us to do. Come the day, all excited thinking how long will it take? Will I be able to light a fire tonight or not, or tomorrow? Didn’t have to worry at all Nigel and friend came after coming a bit late, but was informed of this, by 2 or 2.30pm all done. No mess at any time, explained how to work it (I know it sounds silly but you think, put wood on it and light, but more to it). We did have issue next day but reported it to Nigel and within two days was back and sorted out, now to me that is customer service for you. Am now getting the Hang of the stove now cooking a sausage casserole on top with the kettle for coffee and baked spuds inside, have not used the hob or oven since getting the stove, it is now a game to see how much money we can save.£££s. I have rambled on to much now, personally I could ramble on all day, all I can say is that we highly recommend Lorraine and Nigel. But now I have a casserole and baked spud to devour.

Just had a wood burner installed. Nigel and Adam, the installation team were friendly, efficient and tidy.
When we visited the showroom Nigel was very informative, he explained the difference between the burners gave us loads of brochures and was very knowledgeable.
