Bit long, but my daughter has endured a very traumatic experience with Corona Energy.

If there is an energy company with worse ‘customer PR’ I would be very surprised.
Their incompetence and arrogance is beyond belief.

Three years ago, my daughter bought her first property - a 1-bed apartment.
A year or so later, she started getting bills from Corona Energy for ‘gas’, despite not being a customer of theirs, and not having any gas - only electric.

So, no gas supply, no gas meter, no gas appliances - never used any gas - never dealt with Corona before.
But, being charged.

She repeatedly told them this, but they ignored her. The bills increased, the demands got nastier, then the threats - legal action, forced entry………

This was causing my daughter a lot of stress and anxiety.
So, I stepped in and also made numerous attempts to get this resolved - phone, letter, email (all recorded), but without success.

My daughter even paid for a Gas Technician to come round and provide a formal report to confirm there was NO GAS !!! But, still ignored.

Tried to complain by letter but it was returned ‘undelivered’.
Emailed their ‘Complaints’ email address - but it was ‘bounced back’ - “your email cannot be delivered because the recipient’s mailbox is full” !!!

Finally managed to get the complaint to them - but weeks passed with no response.
Then, they finally replied. No solution, no apology, just telling me to go to the Energy Ombudsman if we weren’t happy.

Eventually, the Ombudsman ruled in our favour and against Corona (obviously).

But, Corona offered the derisory figure of £150, as ‘goodwill’, for all their failings - which barely covered the cost of the Gas Report.

So, I contacted them to discuss, but the door was firmly slammed in my face.
They said the matter was closed and they would not comment any further, and that was final.

For many people that would be it - victims of big company bully tactics.

But, as said, they have caused my daughter considerable worry and anxiety, wasted a lot of her any my time, not to mention all the associated costs.

And we weren’t even their costumers or energy users.
All because they were too incompetent, inefficient and arrogant to listen.

So, we plan to make this a very vocal and public issue, in the interests of other innocent victims.

We do intend to pursue a realistic compensation figure but all of this will go to the Charity my daughter works for.

Corona Energy - Extortionate Rates, Shocking Service
Corona Energy is an unscrupulous provider that scam genunie businesses

We purchased a new commercial unit in August. We tried to find out who the supplier was, but was misguided initiallly. We had no bill or correspondence from Corona.

Eventually we found out that they were our supplier - we made contact and they said they would turn around the change of ownership in 7 days.

I chased up and nothing had happened a week later, and they said it could be up to 4 weeks, but they had what they needed so wouldn't take that long

I raised several complaints as nothing was happening. I was constantly told it would all be sorted at the end from a financial point of view. I was even told several times that I would not pay for this period as it was in their hands.

7 weeks later they finally changed the ownership over to us - with a bill of circa £1700 for a unit that has not been in use! They offered £100 compensation, which is an insult.

Check their deemed rates - standing charge of £5.32 per day! We have switched provider and not paying 42p per day!

Not only this, they onlu issued the bill at the end of Nov. They have not responded to my complaint and now they have passed it onto a third party to collect the "debt"

Awful company to deal with - do not use!

I have been using corona energy for around 3 years now and didn't have a problem until now. I have been paying my monthly bills which were on average £200 per month ( same as last year) we don't use gas , they took it upon themselves to take over £4000 out of my account on the 27th of December!! For now, I have reversed the direct debit , as they are closed during this christmas week. I cannot sleep at night , as I am a small business and I now have tax bills to pay and I don't know how I will pay it 😒 I will be changing over to a better company for my energy and I will be reporting them to the newspapers. This has completely ruined everything.

Would give no stars if possible. Worst company I have ever dealt with, send endless credit and reissued bills the take the money and never include the credits. It takes months of calls, emails and complaints to get the money back from them. There are too many other issues to add to this, cannot wait for the contract to end

Our block was placed with Corona Energy by the managing agent who now does not manage the block. The meter readings were incorrect at the time of the switch, leading to an extremely high bill which we contested. Because we did not make the switch, Corona will not speak to us but will email.
Our meter readings have now been accepted and we have been trying to switch away from Corona because Corona does not want a non-Ltd Co customer.
Trying to get a final bill based on our now-accepted meter readings has not been easy and we are still not there.
This has been ongoing since Feb 2024. This has not been helped because Corona take two weeks to reply to an email. This, due to backlogs they say. They niw have improved things and take between 3 days and one week to reply.

The absolute worse Energy company I have ever had the displeasure to deal with. We moved into a commercial property that had been stood empty for two years. It took them 6 weeks to even get a new meter put in.
They never made us aware that it wasn't energized so when we finally paid off the very expensive deemed rates bill, that took them 2 months to send to us, and went to move to a new company, we were told we couldn't.
They lied to us on every phone call we made to them.
None of the operative ever told us the full story of what we needed to do and when.
This isn't even the full story.....
Don't ever go to these ever!!!
I wouldn't even give them 1 star if I could get away with it!

Would give them minus stars if I could absolutey the worst company I've ever had the misfortune of using, incompetent, don't follow their own procedures and I've been without power for nearly 2 months whilst they do absolutey nothing except show how useless they really are complaint in now going to ofgen and I'm seriously considering suing them for loss of earnings.....DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!

Holy mother of god, how is this utterly fraudulent company even allowed to exist? This is pure insanity, 6 GBP per day standard chargers, shady rate changes no questions asked and no notice. I have never seen anything like it.

Go up
