Ben and his team have done a fantastic job on our garden, and we would 100% recommend them.

We were a bit unsure about exactly what we wanted from our garden, but Ben did a great job of asking the right questions, throwing out suggestions, and was very patient with talking through all our preferences. His design was excellent, making our space seem much larger that we expected and making a fun feature out of the dreary garage wall that forms the back wall. We made a few adjustments together, and the team were ready to start pretty much straight away.

Francesco and Brandon were efficient and polite, and we were kept in the loop throughout the process. When we found an unexpected manhole cover under the patio, Ben talked us through the options so we could decide what we wanted to do, and the team did a very neat job with our new manhole cover which is hardly noticeable in our lovely stone patio. They finished within the timeframe given at the start of the project, and we had full confidence in the team and their work. We are very much looking forward to seeing how Ben's carefully chosen planting comes out this Summer!

We blew our budget to have our garden completely redesigned at the end of our house renovation project and I’m so glad that we did – the garden is my favourite part of the overall project and has really exceeded my expectations. It was great working with Ben and his team – they were professional and conscientious throughout, communicating well and responding quickly to any questions/feedback. The only thing that I would ask for is maybe a bit more handholding in terms of aftercare – I’m a novice gardener and really want the plants to flourish and thrive so some hands-on help/guidance with pruning etc. in the first 12 months or so would be helpful.

Ben took the time to listen to our ideas and then he used his extensive experience to create a design that exceeded our expectations. Ben suggested we incorporate Corten steel panels, we love the contemporary and industrial look this has created. What sets Ben apart is his deep understanding of plants and materials. Every bit of the garden is carefully selected to allow things to work well together or contrast where needed. The end results is stunning. I had Cultivate Gardens replace old fences, refurbish a Japanese style zen garden, and redesign and plant another section of the garden where some old dead trees had had to be removed, and a garden office had been installed. Communication with Ben Cijffers could not have been more easy throughout the project. He took great trouble to come up with a design for the new section of the garden, which would offer something different whilst also harmonising with the established garden, and also to source my very specific requirements in terms of trees, and the right gravel for the zen garden. The quality of the work of his team who did the installation of the hard landscaping and the new planting was outstanding; they were a pleasure to have around, and completely reliable, whether it was a question of arranging times for the work to be done, keeping my neighbours happy (fences!), or taking care over the smallest details of every aspect of the work. Throughout the whole process I felt that Ben and his team took the same care as if they were working on their own gardens. They were happy to discuss all aspects of the work, and the plants and their locations, to be sure I got exactly what I wanted, and clearly took a real pleasure in realising the project to the highest level of quality. I could not be more pleased with the final result which has surpassed my expectations, realising a garden which I am sure will give me many years of pleasure.

Re-designing the garden had long been on my wish list since my kids had grown up and no longer needed a cricket pitch/playground at the back of the house. Ben and his team have created the most amazing space which now utilises every inch of our long thin town garden. The team were very easy to have on-site and Ben kept me informed at every stage of the process. It's only been a couple of months since it was finished and I am still finding new views and plants that I haven't noticed before. It's a total joy!
