Fantastic service! From the original site survey done by Jonathan Rooney to the continued update and communications, the service was 5 Star. Without doubt I would highly recommend D Cookman Electrical. The team working on my project were incredibly professional and polite. They turned up exactly on time each day and even managed to finish the project within two days despite challenging weather, keeping me informed of progress throughout.

My main reason for choosing D Cookman Electrical was because I could see lots of evidence of their previous projects which helped to reassure me of the quality of work I would receive. I completely agree with the many five star reviews that I saw. The price may not be the cheapest price on the market, however the quality was excellent.

Dave Cookman and the team have worked very hard to build up a business that really does put the customer first, right from the first contact to completion of the project. I am very pleased with my choice of electricians and look forward to enjoying my new solar system for many years to come.

I had thought of getting Solar panels and a battery system fitted, for quite some time. However, it’s sometimes difficult to know where to start. There’s a lot of conflicting information out there!

Dave, from D Cookman Electrical, came up on a Facebook Ad, so being fairly local, I asked him to come and give me a quote.

The specification and cost of the install was what I was looking for and Dave certainly knew what he was talking about. He also cares about how the overall ‘aesthetics’ will look, not simply sticking as many panels on the roof as you can. I wanted my system to look good, as well as save money on my electricity bill.

It’s early days, but after 24 hours I am amazed at how much power I am able to produce. 25kWh, on what I had originally thought was a roof that wasn’t that suitable. The one negative point I’d like to raise, is that it’s very hard not to keep on looking at the phone app (at least 20 times a day), checking on how much power is being produced 🙂

So to summarise. I would say to anybody that is thinking of having solar Installed, with or without batteries, definitely give Dave and his team a ring as I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

I came to know David Cookman Electrical Ltd through a neighbour.

I called David and gave have him some house details and he immediately responded me with a quote.

The quote will be very comprehensive with lots of information.

We had a chat and he left it for me to decide. No chasing up and no pushing to makeup my mind. He was happy to explain and answer as many questions I had to ensure that I was happy. Once I was happy pay the deposit which is also simple.

On instalation day 4 fitters came. They immediately started work and did not waste any time.
Each fitter is specialised in there own field. They completed all the work in one day. Tidy up the place and explained how to manage the system going forward.

David will send you all the installation certification and 10 year guarantee. If you decide to export enery to the grid, then your service provider will do all the safety checks and make sure your company has been registered and necessary documents supplied.

If you have any questions or concerns, David is available any time on WhatsApp/phone.

Don't go for the cheapest quote. You need a reputable company as your installation is for next 20 years.

On 19/4/2024 I engaged Dave Cookman Electrical via Check a Trade to install a 5kw solar system. All I can say is I was lucky to get him and his team.

They were a very professional team. Knew their job. They were courteous, tidy and prompt.

They never had an easy job with my roof. It being old clay tiles. i.e. if you lent on one it broke. That said all broken tiles were replaced. The install was neat and bottom line it all works as it should.

I cannot recommend them enough 5⭐ 👍

I had been looking for a solar sollution for a while but was struggling to find someone honest....most just want to bulls**t you with over inflated returns and costs. Up popped Dave on a Facebook advert who looked genuine. Being a man in a trade myself, i wanted someone to turn up in site work atire and dirt on his hands to give me good honest advice.... not a suited salesman who isn't intrested in the work, just the sale. I contacted Dave via the advert and he visited a few days after.

Dave was the tradesman that i was after, honest, hard working
and a genuinly nice lad. The quotation followed a day or 2 later and was below what i had been previously quoted.

Installation was arranged on a date that suited me which worked well. Scaffold was erected a few days before the installation then Dave and his team arrived on the arranged day. Install from start to finish was superb, clean and efficient and was completed in less than a day. Scaffold was then removed a few days later.

Handover was fairly simple and smart phone application added. I was on an old energy tarrif so once install was done , i changed to a better tarrif where i could make the most of the lower night rates with my battery storage. Tarrifs are confusing at the least but Dave was always good to chat and message at any time to assist me, not that this was in his remit.

Bottom line is, if you're after a Solar sollution and are a little confused then Dave and his team are the guys to trust.

Dave Cookman & his team of professional installers seamlessly carried out the job on my roof back & front , installing the panels, not only in record time but beat all the competitions prices they perfectly executed the work.
They were polite clean and tidy and extremely sociable honest lads. I could not be happier.

Dave replies to every question & answers in full almost to the finest detail ( if you’re ever unsure of your decision ) & helps you understand completly the whole thing. My confidence was and 100% boosted and it’s turned out to be exactly what he said it would be with the warranties on the panels & insurance backed labour gurantees.

I’m now saving a mint on my elec costs and the future is exciting to see how it performs through the summer
