James from Dartmoor Energy came out to site (my house) and gave a thorough insight into air source heat pumps and how my property could benefit from one. I had done some research but still had lots of questions and James was able to field all of those and subsequently provide any further advice when emailed.

They have since completed the job and I am very happy with it. They are great to deal with and very competitive, and clearly want to do a good job. Would definitely recommend.

Reco/Dartmoor Energy have just installed an Air Source Heat pump “retrofit” into our 1900‘s ground floor flat. We are in our 70s, and the installation needed to coincide with other building work we were having done to move our kitchen into a different room. This was important to minimise disruption but also because moving the kitchen would take our aging combi boiler completely out of action and mean no hot water or heating until the ASHP went live.

We already knew some of the Reco/Dartmoor Energy team, as in 2021 Dartmoor Energy installed an ASHP in my daughter’s home, and so we asked them, along with two “nationals”, to quote. All the companies carried out a detailed site visit and all were approved under the grant funded Boiler Upgrade Scheme.

It was important to us that whoever we used could advise/do the leg work on the grant application and could work well with our builders as they relocated our kitchen and installed bifold doors - this was especially important as we would be living here while all the work was taking place. A thorough site visit with time for us to ask questions and understand the answers meant we would all know what we were letting ourselves in for and would reduce the likelihood of unforeseen stress and problems occurring during the installation.

Price-wise, Reco/Dartmoor Energy’s quote the middle one. Their proposal was the clearest and most helpful, showed that they had listened to us, and the ASHP they included was the quietest and most efficient of those quoted for. This and our previous experience of their workmanship and customer support made the decision easy.

Reco inspired confidence from the beginning with James (surveyor and coordinator) and Lee (who leads on installation) on site discussing the practicalities of the installation in an old building and the additional things that were important to us. We wanted to avoid damage to our treasured wooden floors, reroute the hot water supply so it would feed the most frequently used taps first, and synchronise the ASHP installation with the kitchen move so the new pipe work would be neat and where possible, would be concealed. Working alongside our builder, and with absolutely no fuss at all, just a lot of skill and attention to detail - it has happened! We are absolutely delighted with how it looks and how it works, and the minimal impact on our existing decoration and flooring.

From the start, Reco have stood apart. They are a talented, well qualified team of thoroughly nice people who really know their stuff and work together - and with other contractors, to make things happen in the best possible way. We have been absolutely delighted to have them do the work.

An initial & thorough survey was swiftly carried out by Charlotte & a subsequent visit with Max, Charlotte & the installer followed. A complete Retrofit Installation was recommended. At all times I was kept informed of progress. Now the HUG2 Retrofit is completed & I am overjoyed with the result. My grateful thanks to the Dartmoor Energy Team.

James from Dartmoor Energy and Jim and the team at RECO have been just brilliant. Our house is transformed into the 21st century! We are very happy with our new system which has been keeping us warm and cozy in this coldest part of the year. We now have an air source heat pump, underfloor heating and solar battery. Any questions or issues have been resolved courteously and professionally at all times. The whole team have been a pleasure to work with. We will be using them for our annual service and feel we can contact them at any stage. We have absolutely no hesitation in recommending RECO and Dartmoor Energy.

Amazing from start to finish. Prompt call backs and site visits. Helped me with CWI, EV charger, PV, battery storage, and full house backup planning and design. Unlike many they really listened to what I wanted and gave multiple options but didn't try to just push their favourite hardware or more simple G98 installs which sadly is what most will do. Couldn't be happier with the end product.

We contacted Dartmoor Energy to inquire about retrofitting an old stone cottage with an air source heat pump and possibly solar panels. They did an initial site visit to complete a heat loss assessment of the cottage which was very thorough taking two hours to complete. The two gentlemen were very knowledgeable and proficient in explaining the two systems and did so in terms we could understand and grasp. They were very timely in sending a very detailed report of their findings and a very reasonable quote for the work to be done. We asked if a further site assessment could be done to determine where the new equipment would be installed and how much disruption would occur to complete all the fitting as the cottage is quite old and retained a lot of its charm and character. There was no hesitation in them agreeing to do this even though we had not signed a contract for the work. Max returned with Jim and a further 2 hour assessment was done to determine where the radiators and heat pump would be fitted. In the end, we made the decision to not move forward with the works at this time. The decision was solely made due to we felt it would take away too much character from the cottage. We felt very comfortable with their assessments and feel confident they would have completed the job to a very high standard. To top it off though, we’d had 4 hours of expertise in assessing and educating us on the unique energy challenges living in an old stone cottage and not once been asked to pay for any of it. When we offered to pay them for the assessments, they declined the offer in lieu of a review. Wow! We have already shared this positive experience with several people in our village and will continue to sing the praises of Dartmoor Energy for years to come!
