10 Sept 2024 - Very pleased witht he professional and helpful service provided by Doug Heys Gas Engineer Ltd, specifically Cody Heys, who called to our Mickleover home very quickly to service our boiler. We were a little concerned that a previous local Gas engineer who had called to cap of a gas pipe leading to a unused gas fire had indicated a slow gas leak and priced for a new pipe run to the boiler. Cody on checking the pressure drop was honest enough to say there was no such leak but did identify that the previous engineer did not cap off the gas pipe at the correct place (at the gas meter) and had only capped off where the fire had been. Very professional, experienced, courteous and efficient, I have recommended them to others already and would definitely use them in the future. My boiler was losing pressure rapidly, It is under warranty with British Gas and only 2 years old, I had already had a British Gas engineer out to have a look, he was there for about 15 mins said boiler was fine and must be leak in system somewhere, he apparently put some sealant fluid in the boiler and told me to keep topping up the boiler pressure and wait for two weeks and just keep checking around the house for signs of a leak! With it being December and cold, due to go away and my house up for sale and potential buyers coming to view the house, I wasn't very pleased with this and didn't want to leave it 2 weeks, so I tried contacting various plumbers and got no response or they were too busy to fit me in. I googled to find a local plumber near to where I live and found Doug's website. I called, he answered which was a bonus in itself as had no luck ringing several others! I explained the situation and he gave me fantastic thorough advice over the phone and Doug said that as boiler was under warranty with British Gas, it was their responsibility to check it thoroughly and they hadn't checked inside the boiler and only checked surrounding pipes for a leak, and advised that I contact British Gas to come back and spend more time checking boiler internally as well as externally for a leak and to rule that out first and he explained exactly name of boiler parts that needed checking so could ensure British Gas engineers did a better job checking the second time, where as Doug could have booked me in to come and do that and charge me for it but he didn't and said to call again if needed if British Gas could not detect leak. I did this and this time they checked thoroughly following what I had explained from Doug's advice, still they did not find the leak. I called Doug back a few days later when I had managed to find the leak myself. He advised me what to do between them coming out to sort it and despite being very busy, they agreed to fit me in as I'd explained my house was up for sale and having viewers and not great with house being cold and no heating! Doug's son Cody came and isolated the leak so I could then use the heating again and then came out the following week of Christmas to fit new piping to the front room radiator. He worked pretty much non stop for a good 5 hours or so, did a fantastic job of the pipework, fitting and soldering working in a awkward space in the cellar. He was very polite and considerate of my dog when going in and out the house and I was very happy with the work completed especially since they saved me money as I could have called emergency plumbers to isolate leak and but got free advice from Doug over the phone of how to stop it until they could come and fix it. Thanks both so much, you have saved me a lot of time, stress and money! 🙂

Got an out of office hours phone call from Doug after a late online enquiry, to then book in for the following day for a minor leak and boiler service. Which is better than most nowadays who are always busy and don't even bother to reply. His son Cody came out and was excellent. Even though I wasn't home for working, my partner said Cody was professional and thorough and took the time to explain everything. Even though he had a busy day there was no rush to complete the job. I would recommend any tradesman with this work ethic and without doubt would call Cody again. Thank you both and look forward to seeing you again.

I’d had an issue with the temperature sensor on my boiler for some time and had tried unsuccessfully to get this fixed by another heating engineer. I found Doug and Cody very professional and courteous to deal with. They solved the issue quickly and efficiently. I highly recommend their service.

So we got this company to look at our boiler which had stopped working. Initially a young guy come to look at it. a very nice guy and was very proactive. However, later the older guy came in. When we insisted on him wearing a shoe cover inside our home, he just over reacted and got offended. He actually just left the boiler without repair saying it is his company and he decides not to work for us. I think this is very unprofessional as we waited for them for two days to get us sorted. I sit here writing a review in a cold home with absolutely no heating. I will not recommend him...

Very RUDE!!! HAS NO CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS AT ALL!! Just a money grabbing buisness. Would not recommend to anyone. Very disgusting many when talking to people. Will not bring my services back here again! Easily could of said not taking on anyone at the minute or say that he is not open but, instead very rude! Give 0 stars if I could.
