I am trying to end my contract with Haven but they are holding me hostage and refuse to let our business leave. Last year our monthly bills were just under £400 for four meters, one meter became obselete as it was not being used and our monthly bill was increased to £960 with two months taken out at once. We have had 5 account managers in 18 months non of whom can sort out this mess. I cancelled all direct debits until we had our over payment returned. I have continually asked for accurate bills to be produced on photographic evidence of meter reading which I was originally told would be accepted - they are not. If you are seriously considering joining this company be very very careful as they are now ignoring my emails and requests to have final payments. I am only left with going to the ombudsman as this is far from an honest way to do business. Wish I had read the reviews before I signed over to them, they have reneged on what was originally agreed. Couldn't post unless I gave a star rating - they are not worth even one star!!!! Appalling billing system and even reading the staff reviews they do not seem confident in the business!!!! If anyone from Haven reads this please please answer my emails and let me escape to a company that has integrity.

How bad are they? Hard to say without using expletives, but I'll try...
We bought a property in January, which had a business account with Haven Power because it used to be a farm. I phoned them to tell them it would now be a domestic property. They advised me they didn't deal with domestic customers - fine. I arranged for another supplier to take over, and heard nothing more. Now I'm being pursued by a debt collection agency for over £1,000 I didn't know I owed: no bills, no phone calls, no emails from Haven Power, nothing. Just a rather nasty letter from a debt collection agency called ACS to my OLD address, despite Haven Power having my new one and my phone number.

From a purely monetary perspective, now that we've had a few months to compare, I think this is worth sharing with anyone considering using Haven Power: For the 22 days before my new supplier took over, Haven Power are apparently charging me £863.11 (although as I've never received a bill, it's hard to know for sure!); for the next THREE MONTHS with my new supplier, less than £100 more. The words daylight robbery come to mind - although as we have an Economy 7 meter, it's night-time robbery too.

To anyone at Haven Power reading this, I will be contacting the Ombudsman as soon as their office opens in the morning to make a formal complaint. Companies like you should not exist. And judging by the other reviews on here, it would seem I'm not the only one who thinks so.

I have had a terrible experience with Haven Power. They tried to claim that I owed them over £12k when in actual fact the true meter readings meant I owed just over £1k. I spoke to 9 different Haven Power customer Reps and they all agreed their mistake. This all took place over the course of 5 years. After a complaint from myself, they would agree their mistake, promise immediate credit noes, and then go quiet for a few weeks. They would then start sending hugely inaccurate invoices again, and billing me incorrectly. I would then immediately call to dispute the charges, but by that time the person I had been dealing with had left. I had to start the entire process again. This took 5 years to resolve. I have a lever arch file full of correspondence on this matter alone. Haven Power even tried to chase me for an outstanding debt from a previous tenant to the property. I explained over 5 years that I was no relation to the tenant, the outstanding bill was not mine, and that I had bought the property from them 5 years prior. The customer service from Haven Power has been nothing short of shambolic. They blame a new invoicing system, and have sent apology letters, but I have had to send over 40 emails, spend hours on phone calls, and write numerous letters to different people to rectify this awful service. I would never, ever recommended a commercial user use Haven Power.

We wished we had read the reviews before moving from NPower. Haven need to have the Ombudsman check there Government pass through charges £1,000 over the top in one month in comparison to staying with NPower on a pass through contract. We question having dealt with an electricity company many years ago with all the similar traits that Haven are showing are any of the directors ex Bizz Energy? We have only been with them two months of a three Year contract, Utility Bidder our broker should have read these reviews before recommending them there isn't a word in the English dictionary that sums Haven up. We'll try to sort through government channels something is radically wrong here. Haven should release us from our contract and send us on our way without the £38k charge they think is acceptable!!!

Please please do not go with this company they are robbing you blind I have been with them for nearly 4 months first month my bills was 100 pound second month 350.3rd month 511 pound .4red months 560 pound now for very minimal usage. The staff very rude, unhelpful. I've tried to arrange a payment plan which they won't accept and are threatening to disconnect my electric. I will be in touch with the ombudsman, this company needs to be shut down..

We have used Haven for our business and have found that their customer care is non-existent; they appear not wishing to retain their customers, rather put you on a higher tariff once the initial contract has come to end. We have now terminated our contract with them; this company is bested avoided in my opinion.

I have been doing business with them for some years. Although they have offered reasonable rates, their accounting systems are appalling. Each time an adjustment is put through they muck up and then you get hundreds of credit notes and new bills at the wrong rates. When they eventually get it right you get hundred of new credit notes and new bills so you have an accounting nightmare if you are a company as we are. Most recently they actually transferred our account to our landlord without our permission sparking off the above routine. It always takes 10 calls to get them to reinstate and they usually get it wrong issuing inflated bills to you as has happened again. The staff are annoyed and we have had so many new account managers over the last 2 years. Departments don't seem to communicate. My advice go elsewhere until they fix their accounting systems and staff turnover reduces.
