EF International Language Campus - Oxford

I loved everything about my stay during August 2024 here – the accommodation, teachers, the staff, the ambience, the activities, the food and, of course, new friends I met here!

I liked to stay in campus because I got opportunity to get in contact with my peers everyday and that's why I personally recommend staying at campus (or residence, the nearest one was only 2 minutes by walk to campus).

It is ensured that students with same level of English are put together in a group by reading and listening tests online before staying in Oxford and then on the first day you take the speaking test.

Education First's classes are special in their focus on customers' interests, therefore you have SPIN classes that are either language focused (speaking, pronunciation, writing, etc.), culture or arts focused (global politics, film and media, etc.).

My teachers (Mr Beltzer and Mr Thomas) were excellent, I enhanced my debating, listening, writing and speaking skills in English while staying at EF Oxford.

Communication with staff was quick and effective. They were very kind and helpful so I never felt afraid to reach them out.

There is a variety of activities provided such as HIIT workout, painting class, yoga classes, craft club, sushi masterclass at campus, college and museum visits and weekend trips to London, Cambridge Cotswalds, Brighton, Bournemouth&Durdle Door, etc.

Overall I would definitely recommend EF Oxford for learning English.
I miss it so much already.

I stayed and studied with EF in Oxford for six months, completing an academic semester. It was truly a life-changing experience. The campus and facilities are like something out of a movie. About the lessons and the staff? The lessons and the teacher are amazing always teaching something new like vocabulary, grammar and also the English skills.
About my personal experience, my favourite activity was Cambridge with EF, they do a beautiful tour along the most popular places of the city and also punting a pretty unforgettable activity. I choose this destination because i saw a beautiful place where i think that i can know a lot of people of different countries and cultures and i did.
By heart I recommend this campus and also the experience that make you feel like a different person, change your mentality and also help you to know how is live alone, having just your friends like your main family.

Not recommended for foundation course here.
Foundation student （ which I have studied in 23-24) very focus on study since we are looking for a uni in UK which is important for our future.
language students are here for fun, the atmosphere is different. They more learn about the culture in UK and english.
Especially exam period. Some students studying, but some playing music in cafeteria .
Cambridge had separate language and foundation students in different floors. which makes it better.

Recommend to EF:
1. It will be brilliant if we can study in the classroom upstairs at night, cuz they are locked after 6( not sure but cant get up after dinner.)
The security guards stoped us even all of us can hear how loud the music other language students playing.( we really need a quiet place to study.

2. The accommodation will be better to separate boys and girls, I have experienced a guy who life opposite to me made a prank on me , it is not a good thing.
Not only prank, but lifestyles is really different between boys and girls . The accommodation changed from a single sex to mixed without noticing, I would like to make a choice to stay or change my room. Suddenly saw a man in the hallway is really shock.

A Waste of Money and Regret Spending Here

After completing five weeks, the improvement was only 2% overall.
I lost valuable study hours preparing a Christmas project and crafting lyrics for a song that had nothing to do with language development.

Moreover, the paid package was supposed to be an intensive English course, but I saw no intensity in the teaching. It was extremely poor and a complete waste.

Additionally, most of the teachers lacked motivation to teach. They wasted time by playing movies for students, as if we were in elementary school.

If you’re looking to learn and practice the language, I do not recommend this institute at all. What you learn is not worth the money you pay.

I stayed and studied at the Oxford campus for two weeks and I found it amazing!! I made lots of international friends and really liked the activities provides for us to choose. The way too and back from the campus was good workout, but still very beautiful to see. And even though I only went for two weeks I can confidently say that my English speaking has improved a lot!
