Sadly it's been a disappointing experience with cracked and damaged panels on a 13 panel system installed last week, I always leave it to people to make a decision for themselves but attached photos so people can make their own mind up. Waiting on a response from an effective Home to put things right, but still waiting, will update depending on progress. I don't think wanting panels without damage be installed is a big ask, do you ?

We asked the company to install solar panels and a battery. The sales side of the work went quick till the install. The contractor/electrician team who did the install and the electricity work was not really paying attention on their work. As a result they cracked/broke some tiles on the roof (as didn’t use ladder to step on), and inside the house the cabling got really messy and not nice at all.
The surveyor person was really helpful before the install, but after (although he insisted on using him as main contact anytime) he was barely reacting on messages and calls.
After several emails and an escalation the head office picked up our reported issues, they sent out the same contractor team to correct/fix the issues. As information is barely flowing inside the company, they could fixed the internal issues, as they needed scaffolding for the roof. We managed to have the internal issues fixed after several discussions with the team.
Then we had to wait some weeks again for the roof, which finally happened after another escalation. The scaffolding happened after 1-2 days and a contractor arrived to replace the broken/cracked roof tiles. Of course the he was not able to provided the exact same roof titles, so as finally agreed with him, he put the darker coloured tiles under the solar panels, so they are not visible.
As mentioned the install happened really fast after we contacted them and paid the instalments, but resolving the issues they caused during the install took much longer than expected. It is obvious that communication does not flow internally as it should, because when the first visit (for fixing issues) happened the contractor had no clue what they have to fix. They haven’t received any information, although we have sent several pictures about the damage they did.
We didn’t get any support about the Tesla app itself, as when they installed the solar and the battery they quickly setup, but barely explained how it works. Luckily the Tesla Support team was really helpful and helped us a lot with all the questions and queries we had.
The product itself is good, we are happy with that, but the underlying support is a bit unclear.
We are giving a 3 star review as a favour from our end, as the install happened quickly to get the money, but then we’ve felt left in a limbo.

We have our solar PV and batteries installed in 2022. Initial service was good. However, there were some issues which to date, have not been resolved.

Our batteries were meant to be mounted flush against the wall in the garage but on the day they were just put on the floor one in front of the other, no mount was supplied. Some time after that install we were contacted to see if we were happy with everything, I made them aware of the issues, sent photos and the person I spoke to said it was a "red flag" that they were placed on the floor. He was adamant it would be resolved. Alas, I never heard from Effective Home again.

We were also supplied with a dongle in order to manage the Growatt inverter via the app but this was not set up for us. I've attempted to set this up several times following the instructions and seeking help online from various sources but we've never been able to get this working. So we've not been able to set up the system to charge the batteries at night when we get a lower rate of electricity.

Finally the placement of the panels was not as hoped, crossing vertically and horizontally on one roof. Whilst they clearly work fine, aesthetically it doesn't look great.

If the battery issue and the dongle/app issue has been resolved we would have been happy but I'm giving them 1/5 for aftercare. To me the mark of a good company is how they treat customers after they have collected their money and how they resolve problems. To me it felt like Effective Home are in the "collect money and run" camp.

I do not recommend Effective Home for PV Solar Installation. They are not at all organised, and make promises they don't keep.

Too many problems to cover everything ...

- Ordered in March 22, installation started on 08 June 22 and to this day 11 July 22 I'm still waiting for them to complete the installation.
- Poor communication, once they have your deposit, you will be the one chasing them to manage your project.
- No organisation, installers turned up without all of the required components.
- Half of the solar panels are damaged due to careless handling and need to be replaced.
- Damage to property from scaffolding.
- What should have been a 1 day installation is now over a month on with no end in sight.
- Complaint to MCS and HIES submitted due to non responsive communications from Effective Home Ltd.

Eventually received over £1000 in compensation due to their incompetence.

I recommend that you find a local MCS registered installer with an excellent reputation and make sure they visit your property and carry out a technical survey in person.

Worst experience, the company failed to communicate properly. Scaffolding randomly turned up to the property without booking any prior appointments. I have never told about any add ons i.e. Bird guard, after installation I had issues with pigeons and birds in the first couple of days. I called straight away but was told they usually they charge around £399 but will charge me £890+ since it's complete although it's their fault as new customers wouldn't know about pests issues. Honestly disappointed with the service, I have been trying to call Liam the sales person for over two weeks but no response. The team just mentions that Liam has moved teams but will ask him to email but I got no emails at all. I was recommended by one of my friend who had a good service but I'm utterly disappointed with the service. Looks like they have also left few scratches and damages to the solar panels as shown in the picture

the salesman James was very helpful. Took my mothers details and postcode, did the relevant checks and booked us in for an assessment. We were asked to provide some confidential documents which i sent via watsap. 3 days later we get called by Lewis "sorry you don't qualify" this company has taken personal confidential information and then told us "sorry" These companies are getting government funding. Makes me wonder if they will claim using my mothers details and pocket the money. please avoid this company and don’t make the same mistake as my mum.

Adding comment as you replied saying I wasn't on the system. Bought and had boiler installed a year ago. It's been nothing but trouble. It wasn't installed correctly to begin with. Weve had Cadent out twice and the 2nd time they ended up quarantining the boiler and telling us not to use it as it was dangerous. Yes every time we complain you send someone out but we now have zero confidence in our boiler as we've had that many issues.

Like many others I've been waiting weeks on end after my property was surveyed, for an install date for cavity wall insulation. Zero communication and have chased them multiple times. The last time I spoke to a rep I was promised a call back but that was also weeks ago. Shocking service, and makes us incredibly nervous about having this company put our insulation in, given the horror stories reported in the press.
