The Ideal C35 combination boiler installed was professionally fitted and in a timely and tidy manner. However this boiler's fan continues to run for an excessively long period of time up to 1 minute even when the hot tap is turned on for a very short period of time, just on and off 2 seconds, which I believe will reduce the life expectancy of the fan assembly and I believe this is a built in design failure in this appliance. All other combination boilers I have used in other properties do not run for this length of time after the hot water is turned off. Additionally the fan and flue assembly is noisier than other combi boilers I have used. I would not recommend the Ideal C35 to other friends or customers. The length of time for hot water to reach the furthest shower is also a disappointment as I'm sure the length of pipework in the loft necessary to supply this shower could have been reduced.

Found these online and enquired regarding getting our loft and room in roof insulated. They came out quickly to do a survey and then sent someone else out to measure up. That's where it went south.

Constant chasing, multiple excuses later, and then to be told, 5-6 weeks later, that the grant doesn't cover the full amount (but it would cover 95%), but if we had the heat pump and solar panels installed, it would We didn't want these as we've been advised that the heat pump won't work in our large Victorian semi.

We asked how much the extra 5% was, as we could've paid this to be told they wanted £3000, making the whole job 60k!

We were then told they expect the grant to increase in July, and to wait, which we did. Another chase later to be told, actually it's gone down and now doesn't cover as much. All the time, we are having to chase these people, multiple times a day, for answers.

The last conversation was, ‘They'll see what they can do and call us back,’ and unsurprisingly, they haven't.

Overall, there was poor communication and service. I feel that if we had gone for the solar panels and heat pump, things would've been different.

After responding to a flyer through our letter box, stating that we may be able to have our loft room insulated 100% free of charge we decided to cautiously enquire. We don't receive any benefits, but we're told that we may have access to the scheme due to our houses EPC being poor.

A surveyor was sent out to the property to assess what we may be eligible for, and we soon received a report of the work that could be carried out on the property. This all seemed too good to be true, but after googling the Eco4 scheme, we agreed to have the work done.

We were then sent a schedule of work to be carried out on the property, and the work was carried out in a timely and very efficient manner. All of the people involved with the project were lovely and professional and we couldn't be happier.

The work to the property consisted of:
•Removal of the old tongue and groove cladding to the ceiling, and removal of any skirting from the walls that were due to be insulated.
•60mm insulation board fitted to the ceiling and 12mm board fitted to any non-parity walls.
•New skirting board fitted
•Plaster applied to the newly insulated ceilings and walls
•Lighting refitted
•Trickle vents fitted to the windows throughout the property
•Extractor fans installed in all of the wet rooms (bathrooms and kitchen).

The work was all done to a very high standard, and things were clearly throughout. The space already feels much warmer, and there is no longer a dusty, and damp smell to the room.

This is all then assessed by a third party inspector before Energex could receive their fee for work done, which adds extra reassurance.

We were very hesitant to apply for this, as we have never been able to access schemes previously so it all seemed very unlikely. But having taken a leap of faith we are really glad that we did, and we are spreading the word amongst all of our family and friends.

Energex installed loft insulation, trickel vents, extractor fan and an air test at my property. Very happy with everything they did and excellent communication also quick installation which I was happy with. Highly recommend this company.
