I had an excellent experience with Energy Care at Bedford. I was slightly cautious on account of some historic bad feedback, particularly regarding boilers, but I was looking for EPS cavity wall insulation.

From my first enquiry to job completion, I was offered prompt answers to all my technical and procedural questions. As a result of my first enquiry, I proceeded to have a survey done, which confirmed my own findings, using my own endoscope, that my wall cavities were not insulated. I decided, and EC’s surveyor agreed, that EPS bead was the preferable material to use. Again, all my detailed questions were answered well during the survey.

I was offered a date for the installation which was initially too soon! However, I went for a date 3 weeks away which suited us all. The whole process was completed within the day assigned, and the inevitable dust produced from boreholes was blown away using a compressed air line. All holes in the bare brickwork were backfilled with fresh mortar so that you really cannot see where they were. (EPS bead only requires smaller and fewer holes than mineral fibre).

One extra word should be added about the technician who performed the installation. He was, as with the other staff, fully dedicated to the job, and went beyond my expectations and contractual agreement over certain aspects of the installation, most notably the care and attention given to finishing off all the holes and clearing away debris. A few pieces of the cosmetic brickwork needed removal to fit the nozzle, but these were reapplied such that no-one would notice they had ever been removed. The particular member of staff had been with the company 20 years and that experience showed in his workmanship and conversation.

Lastly, the certificate arrived a couple of weeks after the installation (Christmas came between!) together with the request for this feedback, which has given me full opportunity to assess the initial effectiveness of the process during the weather we had – wind, rain and sub-zero overnight temperatures – and I am delighted with the overall effect of the installation. Only significant time will tell if the overall saving/increased warmth will stack up to my calculated estimates, but initial results bode well!

I had bead cavity wall insulation added to my home a few months ago. The chap was very thorough and was happy to chat/ explain everything he was doing. If you have a cold home I cannot recommend their service enough. With some further front door insulation I've added myself this year my gas bill is less than half what it was last year. I'll make my money back just this winter or at the very least after next winter.

Very happy with the bead cavity wall insulation from Energy Care Group. Communication was good at all stages of the job and the install was thorough and tidy. Noticeable improvement in the warmth of my 1930's house and the smart meter seems a bit happier too! Wouldn't hesitate in recommending the guys from ECG. Guarantee arrived in the post soon after the install, which was reassuring. Just disappointed I couldn't find an insulation grant at the time, but that's one for the government...
