ESE are a very professional outfit, employing a very good and personable team who are efficient and prompt in comms and appointments. My install is all booked in and hopefully this will all go as smoothly as the pre sales and survey stages. Jamie is a great guy and makes you feel very comfortable as well as explaining everything he is doing as he goes along - he’s very thorough. Cat in the office has also been great and has done all the arrangements without issue including getting sign off from U.K. power networks. At this stage I’m a very happy customer.

From the first meeting with Jamie who was really knowledgeable and not at all pushy to the Admin team, especially Kat who ensured the smooth running of the scaffolding and installation to the Installation team who were fantastic really professional and very efficient. After contacting ESE to enquire, I quickly had a surveyor call to my home to see whether my property was suitable, a design and quotation followed the day after. They were always on hand to answer any queries. I never felt under pressure to go ahead.
On the day of the installation the team worked quickly and got the job done in a few hours. They were friendly and respectful of my property. All the electrical equipment used was of high quality and I had the opportunity to discuss how the wires would be routed etc. The system was up and running that same day and the app was demonstrated to us (still working out how to use it to its full though). I’m seeing huge savings on my bill, despite my roof space only being able to accommodate a small 6 panel system and small battery. It still covers all my daytime use and the battery lasts most of the evening. I do use an agile energy tariff to charge the battery during cheap rate if the weather is going to be cloudy. I’ve no regrets about getting solar panels and battery installed, I could’ve spent the money on a new kitchen but having peace of mind that my home is now affordable to run is much better. I would recommend ESE to anyone thinking of making their home more green and energy efficient and knowing that annual maintenance is included is even better.

Beware of Misleading Information and False Promises!

I had a very disappointing experience with ESE Solar County Durham regarding the installation of my solar panels. I was promised that after installation, I would receive a Flexi OrB certificate and be able to choose the electricity provider I wanted to sell my excess energy to. However, after the installation, I discovered that the company is not even certified to provide the Flexi OrB certificate, as confirmed directly by Flexi OrB themselves!

Instead, they offered to sell my electricity to Octopus Energy at a rate of 4p per kWh, when my current provider offers 15p per kWh. This is a huge difference, and I feel completely misled and deceived.

It’s clear that this company cannot deliver on their promises and provide the benefits they advertise. I strongly advise others to avoid dealing with this company, as they are not transparent and will leave you stuck with less-than-ideal options for selling your energy. Very disappointing!

No heavy selling or pressure which was refreshing in this sector.
Ongoing contractual maintenance and follow up was included and something others don't offer.
I was very impressed by the company's overall national reputation via the independent feedback from other customers.
