Sold me a defective mouse with 1 year warranty and want me to pay to ship it back, the mouse is a complete dud, wouldn’t trust this retailer

They ignored my emails about a return. I then realised that I lived locally so I hand delivered my return as they state on their website that you can do this.
They told me that I would receive an email confirming my refund but that never came.
I then called them to ask about my refund and they assured me it would happen.
It has now well over a week and I have had no refund and absolutely no communication. I feel like a fool because they have my money and they also have the order as I took it back to them.
