Lovely place to come for a walk. There is plenty for the kids to do, such as finding the animals identified on the toadstools. Lovely place to have a picnic too.

The Folly was open when we came and it is really interesting to go in.

Recommend for a family afternoon!!!

A nice little gem in farringdon. We took the shortish uphill path up through the woodland. Surprised to find a working piano in the woods sheltered within a wooden den. Wooden sculptures and a carved throne were scattered here and there and benches to sit on. It was beautiful on a beautiful sunny day . And it's free!

Great fun and the volunteers are excellent. Amazing views from the top and lots of interesting information about the tower provided too.

Over 100 steps to the top and the last bit is more of a loft ladder but worth it!

What a great little adventure this was. A lovely enchanted wood surrounding this "Useless" Tower (not my words) which is filled with wood carvings of creatures. See my photos for many of the wood and metal carvings and see how many you can find. Great place for Pokemon Go players too. Good signal on your phone and amazing 360° views.

Fantastic views from either the top of the hill or from the roof of the 100 foot tower. Stairs were wide enough for passing people going in the other direction. There were also binoculars to borrow at the top, so you get a great opportunity to look for miles.
And the volunteers were fantastic and very friendly.

We had such a wonderful time visiting the folly. The views are fabulous & it is an easy walk up from the free two hour on road parking spots at the bottom of the hill. We enjoyed spotting the sculptures & reading the history boards. The tower is open a couple of times a month so worth checking this out. Plus there are two free woodland story-time events a month so that is perfect if you have little ones. The site is dog friendly & there are plenty of benches to soak up the view. We enjoyed it coupled with a visit to Uffington White Horse which is around 20mins away. Highly recommend for a free outing on a sunny day.

Nice viewing point within walking distance of the town centre. The walk is a gradual slope to the top. Interesting history and some lovely art in the wooded area on top of the hill.
