I am so impressed with flames of hull.
From the guys in the shop to the stove fitters.
Polite, friendly and informative, all my questions and queries were answered and I chose a package deal with a choice of stove, hearth and beam.
The package deal was a great price and included widening the chimney aperture as there was a January special on.
I needed a gas safe inspection and some extra plastering which flames organised and my new stove fitting was booked in for 10 days later.
On the day of the fitting, the stove fitters arrived promptly and I left them to it.
By the end of the day, the stove, hearth, beam and plastering was completed and everything left tidy.
The quality of the stove fit is exceptional and at such a reasonable price.
I will definitely use flames of hull again for my next property and i would definitely recommend them!

We have recently bought our fireplace package from flames. We chose the Qudos vienna multi-fuel stove, brick chamber set, granite strips, slate hearth & wooden beam. The fitters did a fabulous job during the installation. The finish is of a very high standard. The fitters where very tidy, the job was completed by lunch time. As you can see our new fireplace has been updated to a high standard.

Excellent service, just went looking for a feature fire. After looking at their range and seeking to them decided on having a media wall with the fire built into it. They gave excellent advice and arranged the installation of the media wall and fire. We opted for extra back-lit led lighting and diffused side led lighting, the installer Jay and his team did a fantastic job supplying everything we needed including the TV wall mount.
I would highly recommend Flames to anyone wanting a first class job doing without any hassle.

Had my burner fitted a couple of weeks ago. The people in the store was really helpful and very polite and managed to get us fitted in very quickly... luke the fitter and a young lad turned up to do the job and left it immaculate from doing a really neat job of fitting it they even cleaned up any mess that was made and only taken half a day would recommend flames if you want a good job doing

Failed on every level of service possible.
We Called Flames to supply and fit our stove and they sent a Mr J Jowett (Total Heat Solutions), they state on their website that they are in house fitters, they are not as the owner Mr Blakeston emailed stating they are SUB-CONTRACTORS. This was also used by the owner later to distance himself from my complaint and attempt at a refund via section 75.
1st visit, he agreed that we could have the fire we wanted.
2nd visit to open up the fireplace depth, height and width to receive the fire and fit the liner and cowl
3rd visit to fit the fire, test, commission and certificate.
Mr Jowett at no time wore hirs HETAS ID nor stated he was HETAS trained nor did he give any business card, to show that he was a sub-contractor.
When we was quoted we was told that we had to pay Mr Jowett on the day CASH IN HAND.
So on the day of fitting the fire Mr Jowett was at my address for less that 50 mins to install and test the fire, this time included unloading and loading the fire.
When he had finished I walked in to see him messing around with the bottom R/H side of the casing, of which he ceased and stood up to say all is finished, I paid and they left.
So here is what happened:

1 - Mr Jowett had not fitted a Carbon monoxide sensor which is required by LAW and stated the we can not have a fire today DUE TO THE SELANT NEEDING TIME TO SET, but we can have one tomorrow. Again illegal to leave without a sensor and to advise we can have a fire, ALSO THE SEALANT IS HEAT CURED.

2 - Mr Jowett was applying sealant to the R/H side of the fire because it wasn’t fitted correctly and sat proud, later when questioned he lied and said the wall was 15mm out and that I knew, going back to visit 2 he had made the aperture himself and in the below pictures I show the R/H exterior wall being 10mm which I told him about, you can see that in the opening this wall does not effect the figment as it’s recessed.

3 - Mr Jowett stated on leaving that he will arrange the certificate to be sent as it was all done and ready. So no test was done (supported by Arada email, stove manufacture) this is also a HETAS requirement to gain certification, no test papers left again HETAs requirement and no NOTICE PLATE filled out or left, required by building regulations.SO MR JOWETT WAS GOING TO FALSIFY A DOCUMENT TO OBTAIN CERTIFICATION.

So when all this was brought to the owners attention, he responded by saying he would send him back to rectify, no as I stated to him why would I want him back, when I had to tell him what he failed to do, they then offered a friend of the fitter 🤣🤣🤣.
At this point I had paid all the money to flames apart from the £590 I had paid cash to their (alleged but not in house fitter), I requested the time to find a HETAS trained fitter, Mr Blakeston then advised me that if the money outstanding was not paid as this was for the material, he would take legal action. I requested that it be put into ESCROW to protect me he then refused to move forward, I paid in protest.

I then got a professional company in to fit the fire correctly and fit a sensor, test, commission and certificate and supply the notice plate at an extra cost of £680, they then found to commission and certificate to me all the required parameters, they had to change the COWL as Flames had fitted the wrong one, as the down drought not only affected the flue draw, but actually put the fire our and blew smoke into the room, due to excessive down draught. We had questioned this with Flames as next do had an H cowl fitted, they said it was OK. To add, next door told us they had to have the cowl changed as their fire went out, I’LL GIVE YOU ONE GUESS WHO THEY TOLD US FITTED THEIR FIRE.
We found out also that not only had flames supplied the wrong cowl but OVERCHARGED US FOR THE LINER, AS WE ONLY NEEDED 6 MTRS NOT THE 10 THEY ALLEGEDLY SUPPLIED AS WE DIDN’T SEE THE WASTE.
We have no receipt, no apology, no refund for failing own statement, overcharging or services not provided but paid for.
