I placed an order for coal on January 9th and received an automated email confirmation of my order. The website suggests delivery will take place within 2-3 working days.

One week on and I have no delivery. I have tried to call three times (twice unanswered) and sent two follow up emails requesting an update. On my third call, I was able to speak to a lady in the 'gas' department who advised me I would need to speak to a lady called Mary, and that she would ask Mary to call me back. I have not had any calls from this company since then.

This morning I received an email to advise delivery would take place on January 23rd, 2 weeks after my order was placed.

A friend kindly offered to drive to their site today to collect my order, and on arrival was told a) I shouldn't have been able to order the coal I did for delivery, b) the price was wrong, c) they were unable to give her one bag of more expensive coal and refund me the difference, d) refund me at all. My friend was shocked at the attitude and complete lack of any semblance of customer service from the lady (confirmed to be Mary) that attended her, suggesting that I was in the wrong for ordering something which their own website enabled me to do (!!!!!). She was also told they couldn't refund me as it would cost them £5 to process.

The lady also said she hadn't received any emails from me (not true - she had replied to one of them!) and they had no records of any calls being received from me.

I have requested a refund be issued today.

Quite sad, as I would have liked to support a local business but the customer experience to date has been shockingly poor, with terrible communication and the way my friend was spoken to on site is just unacceptable.

Just want to say four seasons are a brilliant company best team and logs around. Neil is very knowledgeable and a very kind man he has helped our family at a cold time of year as we are new to log burning and his advice and support has been second to none. I would urge anyone who is lucky enough to be able to use this company to reach out to them. We will always only go to them. Thank you Neil and four seasons have a blessed Christmas
