Ginger energy is one of the worse electric company’s.
Being stuck with them as building management won’t let you move providers, they take advantage of this and charge a ridiculous price. £368 a month for a tiny one bed flat is absurd, I understand there’s a cost of living but other energy providers will average around £100.
This company needs to get investigated because surely they can’t get away with this anymore. Me and my partner are never home as we both work 45 hours a week, how do we accumulate this much energy when we’re barely home…

Ginger energy is run by con artists. They didn’t invoice us for 16 months, ignore all consumer protections are sit there as a broker and then demand payment in three months. Not once did they bother trying to contact us until the balance was huge. Terrible company. Terrible service. Avoid any property linked to this company.

The energy billing of our leasehold property was managed by Ginger. Monthly billing on time, though with 100% additional admin fee you would expect it is always on time.
Ginger communicated directly to the property owners that they were ending their services before the management block (Gingers client) made any noises.
Clearly some miscommunications behind the scene, I would be wary if I was the client

By far the worst energy company I’ve ever heard of

2 bed flat, we’re out of our home from 9am-9pm monday-friday

The standing charge has worked out around 5x the average ~£3 per day compared to ~62p

We can’t change though because the whole building is tied to them

AVOID AT ALL COSTS if possible

This review honestly couldn’t be negative enough - if I could give -10 stars I would

The worst energy company to ever exist - we moved into a flat and were not told about them until we were surprised by a £900 bill at the end of the first year out of nowhere. They're utterly useless, and admitted it was their fault to not send monthly bills but still demanded the money within 7 days. Luckily we had some savings but this is just disgusting behaviour especially for people who may not be able to afford massive surprise bills!

If you are looking for the MOST EXPENSIVE electricity provider in the UK you have found it.

150 - 290 GBP is the charge you can expect monthly for a 350 Square Feet apartment. Just by leaving the electronics on standby at night, you'll get charge. Using the heater for 1hour in winter will automatically get you to that 290 GBP bill.

RUN AWAY !!!!!

I really think ginger energy should be more regulated, it seems they have a good relationship with freeholders, who in turn decide to charge according to square meter of property because the meter doesn’t work, which we have to fix ourselves, then provide 6 months worth of readings to get a refund for their overcharged prices.

Ginger was a really good company for the first 7 months of my tenancy however with the UK price increases ginger seem to have taken that as an excuse to charge us extortionate rates knowing that we can't switch from them. My bills have gone from 14.50 per kwh to 42.57 and they're claiming that to be the best deal when it's over twice what anyone else I know is paying and triple what I was paying before. This is extortion at its very finest.
