Great people. Just asked for what wood posts I wanted, 2 different lengths. The manager sorted me a good discount and a forklift driver brought it down to my car. The manager helped me get the posts In to my car which was very helpful as they needed to be in at an angle for the back door to shut. Thank you Howarth Timber for a great experience as I don't often visit builders or timber merchants. Andrea.

Shocking customer service, ordered some fencing showed it was in stock for delivery, received a call from branch to say the closest stock was in Scunthorpe would I accept a smaller fence but unfortunately no it wouldn’t have matched my existing one. So I was told it may be a while until they go to Scunthorpe but time wasn’t an issue so all good. I then received a shirty email the following day saying I didn’t want the alternative therefore I could be issued with a refund, I asked the question about the stock being available but no answer. Two more emails and still no answer and received a full refund with no follow up correspondence. A simple email with an apology would have been enough. Not a happy customer.

Now to June 2023, I had cause to go to Howarth's again and I am delighted to say the reception from Shane and the transaction was just as friendly, informative and helpful as my first visit 5 years back.
Unlike many of the D-I-Y supermarkets, I was listened to and helped without any sense of give us the money then bum's rushed out the door.

I have just ordered some MDF sheeting which needs to be cut to size. I have been dealt with helpfully, from the initial phone call to the payment face to face in the office/reception.

I saw the 3 star review and was in two minds whether to use Howarth, however I would have no hesitation in recommending them 100% based upon today's experience.

The price too, was extremely competitive and I shall be using them again.

Having been a customer for over 20 years with the old Maltings team, I was a little reluctant of Howarth taking over, I shouldn’t have been!
Always great service from Trev, Keeley and Micheal!
Neal the delivery driver is a very hardworking individual and a great asset.
The expansion into a general builders merchants works well and were beginning to source more products via Howarth that we might have sourced elsewhere.

Needed a very specific size of wood with many different lengths. Mike was tasked with the job and couldnt have been more helpful. Front desk were friendly too. As a female on my own, not once did i feel like I shouldnt be there or i was daft for asking the questions i did. This isnt always the case when you enter trade sites so it was refreshing. I left very happy and appreciative with exactly what i needed.

We have use Harworth branches across the North of England semi regularly.
Had a slight miss communication with an aggregates drop yesterday…
Shane at the Doncaster branch arranged a prompt and hassle free solution - minor crisis averted.
