Signed up through BJ's and didn't realize that the introductory rate they offer does not include the $0.07/kWh deliver fee, charged by your supplier. So at the beginning it looks like you paying slightly less than when you were before. When that pricing ends they charge the market rate, my example being $0.12/kWh plus delivery fee, bringing it up to $0.19/kWh. I wasn't paying attention to this until I received $606 energy bill!!! Had I just used NYSEG to get my electricity, which would still have been expensive using AC this summer, it would have only cost me $410. This company ended up costing me a little over $1000 this year in excess energy costs.

Somehow got signed up with them years ago and had no idea when or how. My bill this year goes up $300 per month as a flat fee on top of my energy use, takes several billing cycles to get it figured out. I don't know who has that kind of money or why they would just change someone's plan like that after years (despite not knowing I was using them in the first place). If you decided to cancel know that it'll take 3 months or so before it all goes through so your better off canceling your service all together with the supplier and restarting under a different email or something if you want to save $900. All in all Inspire has charged me $2100 on top of my energy bills this year in order to offset the carbon from the private jets i see flying above my house. Super shady tactics, keep an eye on your bills down the road if you have them.

NEVER join this company. People came to my house and said this was a clean energy solution that would potentially save me money or add up to $5 to my monthly bill, and it raised my monthly electric bill by sometimes over $100!!!
Look, if you have the financial means and want to do good, maybe it is an option for you. As somebody who is on a budget, I don't have an extra $1000+ to throw away every year.

In January I was approached by a sales rep for this Company in a BJ's wholesale in Buffalo NY. I was informed that this was clean energy at a lower cost and I would be saving money each month on my electric bill. For me and I think anyone else in the middle class if you hear save money you are going to jump on board for the most part.
In the summer time my electric bill usually ranges from $200-$240 depending on how hot it is and how much I have to run my air conditioners. It is the expectation that you would have a higher bill. Reviewing my electric bill the first month of summer it was $470. I made the assumption that electric bills had just gone up due to inflation. The following month another $460 and then again in August $480.
After Septembers bill came out and it was the same I made a phone call to my electric provider to ask them why my bill is basically doubled from what it was the year prior and of course at that point I was informed that it wasn't them who was charging me this outrageous cost it was Inspire Clean Energy. In which they have been receiving many phone calls about them with constant complaints about how high their electric bills are.
I called inspire to cancel like I was advised to do and I was told that they would look into countering some of the difference in cost that National Grid charges vs the amount they charge. With is taking about 1-2 billing cycles to come off of my current bill I will pay for this for around 4 months so give or take $1800 with inspire or only lets say on the high side $1000 with National Grid.
I received a phone call back from inspire with the offer of $179.20 to be sent to me to offset some of the charges and to help with my other bills. Like stated above I took the time to re explain to the customer service rep about the additional ~$720-$800 that I am paying that I was not informed of. She put it on me because there was a "letter" sent out about what the new billing with them would look like. I never received any "letter".
All in all I get it that yeah could it be on me because I didn't think back in the beginning of June to call about my current bill being so high, yeah that part is. Yeah it's on me because I didn't do my research. Sadly, the world has kind of gone to crap with greedy corporations who will screw any consumer they want to and get away with it. The sad part about the whole thing is how many other people are being lied to by this company with deceptive practices by their sales reps in every store they travel to. In a time like this with inflation and how much everything else costs I don't know how this company stays in business with their costs and who the people are that think they are cheaper than just using your regular area provider.
If you see these people around the holidays in stores please help your neighbor to stay away from these reps. Don't let them continue what they're doing to consumers and lying about what they're doing to do for you. Don't let this company continue to scam people. If you have to inform the store manager of what they do to get them removed.
Lastly, I don't have the kind of money to do anything about it with the law but if anyone reads this who can this company needs investigated and shut down. How they have 4 stars with the amount of reviews they have is beyond me.

We are currently saving $50.00 a month on the budget plan. Contract for one year. Very happy so far. National Grid kept jumping up every year more and more anyway so I felt it was worth a try.

Most of the reviewers who gave negative reviews don’t seem to realize that many of these companies give you a price for a certain period of time. When that period expires, you have to call them to get a new contract price set in order to keep a low rate. That period of time may be three months or a year or some other length of time which you can choose, but you need to be willing to put the next cycle on your calendar so that you remember to call them. If you don’t want to be bothered with that stick with PPL.

I have recently renewed my service with Inspire Clean Energy for another term to be my electrical energy provider. I have been pleased with their pricing and billing. Another factor that convinced me to renew was their ability to produce electricity with solar panels and windmills at a competitive price. To the best of my knowledge, they do not burn any coal or natural gas to generate electricity. Inspire customers have reduced the amount of carbon emissions entering Earth’s atmosphere by over 5 billion pounds!

I have had a good experience with Inspire. My bill has gone down considerably and I received my $100 giftcard. They did everything they said they would do. Very good customer service. 4/5 stars.
