Jim was recommended to me by someone. My husband made contact with him on the Thursday. At this point, we were into our second day without heating (we have three school age children). Jim said he would come out on the Monday evening.

We waited the four days without heating thinking that this highly recommended tradesman would turn up on Monday between 5 and 6pm, as he said. We even confirmed with him during the day on Monday.

When it got to 6.25pm, we began to call him (no answer). I sent him a text saying the least he could have done is let us know he wasn't coming. He knew our situation. He then sent me a text back saying he had another job and that he is 'a very busy man' (implication: he is more important than anyone else) and that he thinks it best that we find someone else.

The bottom line is: he has no courtesy, no empathy and is full of his own self-importance.
