No wonder people come far and wide to experience this traditional market town and all its delights.

I don’t usually do a review of larger companies like John Lewis BUT yesterday I was blown away by the outstanding customer service I experienced from one particular young lad who bless him went above and beyond to give me such amazing information,respect and his knowledge was second to none. So well done Finn from upstairs in the tech team mate this one’s for you. I hope the right person or persons see this and credits you.

I went into the store on 10th February to buy some perfume for my daughter's birthday. As soon as I entered the perfume section I was greeted by two members of staff who offered to help and then found what I was looking for. The packaged my gift and served me so enthusiastically that I was left feeling like an absolute VIP customer! I then popped into the Waitrose section for a few groceries and received a similar welcoming service from the cashier there. I left the store feeling very happy after receiving good old fashioned service like it used to be!

Fantastic store with a great Tech Department! Been trying to pick Headphones recently and was struggling to choose. Two very helpful guys from this department took time to explains the benefits and the differences between my options. Nathan and Finn were a great help. A real credit to the store. Made my purchase today so very happy!

This is not a safe and welcoming environment to bring a small child. Around every corner there is another dog, which might seem cute for some but when there's a big dog between my daughter and her mother it's really not funny. Since when did dogs belong in shops? Friendly and helpful staff keep me from giving 1 star but I'll be avoiding this place until they rethink their priorities and put children before animals.

So frustrating, I really want to try and buy a recliner armchair. On the website it gives a phone number to call to ask them where it's possible to see it on display. The number goes through to a call centre in south Africa who are completely unable to help other than to check stock in a specific branch. I'll now have to give up on John Lewis and go elsewhere which is disappointing as it's a brand I like and trust and would potentially have bought a sofa in addition were I able to find out where to view them!

Unacceptable customer service from a company that suggests that customer service is a distinguishing factor.
I call the customer service team to ask if they have a tv/audio product on demonstration in a particular store. They are unable to tell me or put me through to the store so apparently I have to make a potentially wasteful journey to the store to understand this! ( environmentally conscious company?).
What is the point of having a central customer service team that can’t offer very basic information about their own stores?

Great range, lovely atmosphere and fantastic customer service. John Lewis is laid out over 2 levels and there is a lovely Waitrose and a Waitrose cafe to enjoy. I would certainly shop there again.
